Straight forward win the end. Another clean sheet for Ben too.
Congratulations to everyone involved. What a turn around we’ve had since an owner with money and ambition took over the running.
Not the best start with the Wilson/Gannon debacle and the obvious ignorance of the culture of the club etc but with the success that Stott has bought he can be excused that.

Good post, HH.
However, I will personally never excuse nor forgive any of those involved with Jim's dismissal, no matter what success they bring to the club, but I am willing to put my feelings regarding that issue to one side and appreciate the progress being made.
Jim's loyalty towards the club that crapped on him more than once was incredible, and the genuine love and dedication he showed us when we needed him most was without measure - so the very least he deserves is mine in return.
That man worked tirelessly and often above and beyond his remit to keep the club moving forward, and the part he played in turning us around when we were in very real danger of disappearing altogether should never be forgotten.
If it wasn't for the work Jim did and that brilliant National North title win, Mark Stott wouldn't have touched us with a bargepole.
Dave Challinor is a fantastic manager, a serial winner and he's earned the right to be considered a club legend now, and I hope he stays with us for a long time, but Jim still stands head and shoulders above everyone else for me.
He's on a level all of his own for what he gave to County, not only professionally, but also personally, and I will never allow that to be forgotten - no matter how high we go up the leagues.

The culture comment was borne out of ignorance and I’m going with it being a Simon Wilson idea, it sounds like the right thing to say. Indeed at many clubs it probably is the right thing to say, but as Gazz says without Jim there would probably be no club any more. His culture of professionalism in an amateur club, expecting the best from all of those around him on and OFF the pitch rubbed people the wrong way because generally they were too lazy to keep up with him.
I think if Jim were to walk on the pitch on Saturday and stand in the centre circle all four sides of the ground would be singing Jimmy Gannon’s Blue and White Army.
We are blessed to have had three outstanding managers in my time as a County fan. Danny who gave birth to the modern era of us as a successful club rather than a joke, Jim who linked between this period and our rebirth under him (twice!) and now Dave who also has roots in the club is leading our renaissance.
Animo et fide

I'll just add Dave Jones to the list of outstanding managers - he took the ashes of Danny's side and rebuilt it with a different style of play and produced probably the best overall season in the history of the club what with Southampton and Middlesborough and automatic promotion.

My reason for not including him is because although he did produce arguably our best ever season he wasn’t in post long enough.
