Now Hippolyte on for CLE - he's had a good game. Woots ploughing a lone furrow up front. Once again though, Paddy has been great. Agree on both points, AH. Connor has been excellent and his goal was an absolute beauty. I've said all along he could do a job for County, and he's proving this every time he gets on the pitch. Paddy is my MotM, though, he's been different class

Touray seems, to me, to have had a pretty good game, same with Camps.

Aaaand Touray gets booked and then gives a free kick away. Ah well...
Pye has hardly been mentioned - which I think is a good thing because they've got nothing out of him. Same for Horsfall. Kane seemed a bit off for me, he had good ideas but his passes were over or under hit.
Aaaaand Byrne makes it 5!

Massive win and we were under massive pressure after Wrexham won, so I'm wondering if the players took to the field with that weighing heavy on their shoulders?
Thankfully, we got the result, and then some!

We're going to win this. Whenever we're expected to slip up, we get a result.

This is poor so far. If we f*** this up it's fair enough to pin some of the blame on DC, but Wilson can't be allowed to wash his hands off it and hide behind another manager this time - this will be on him too. I honestly can't see where a goal is going to come for us. I started checking this thread and read this and then your final ‘smug mode’ post. Football is such a fickle mistress 😂

Football is such a fickle mistress 😂 😂😂 To be fair, though, Duds, it was bloody awful in the first half until their 'keeper made that howler. Up to that point they were all over us and could have been 2 or 3 up themselves, but that mistake really took the wind out of their sails. Credit to our lads, however, because they made sure they didn't give them time to recover from it. I'm still claiming it, even though I was a slapped arse for the opening half an hour!

rather enjoyed how they'd just displayed the match stats and were saying how surprising it was that we were one up given mk's dominance of possession and chances, and five seconds after they had finished that discussion we were two up.
our kid and partner were in the railway end, huddled under the scoreboard with loads of other county fans. apparently the stewards were trying to get them to sit back down, which i understand, but it was siling it down at the time. glad they got to see three goals right in front of them.
wrexham and crewe have sh*t the bed several times recently, or they'd be above us. we just need to get out of our sticky patch and do what we do when we're not in a sticky patch - win and win and win and win remorselessly. we had our indifferent start and have had a fairly prolonged sticky patch, and we're still in second with at least a game in hand on everybody except barrow, and we're seven clear of them. given that, we just need to hold our nerve and we'll finish champions or second.

We're away to the bottom 3 teams in 3 of the next 4 games (with Wimbledon home the other game). They are obviously scrapping for survival, but are bottom for a reason. Our 100% is better than their 100%, so it's on us to go out and give our all and get 12 points. This result will give us a huge boost and have a psychological impact on the other top teams. (Plus, Wrexham v Mansfield next - as my son said, we're hoping for 0-0 and both teams reduced to 8 men each!)

If/when we have a covered stand at the railway End how many more would be tempted to watch…

If/when we have a covered stand at the railway End how many more would be tempted to watch… I wouldn't mind watching in a covered RE, Duds, even though I prefer the CE. I've been on there a good few times down the years and had some great 'mentals', not least Preecey's screamer which had the place literally shaking - I can only imagine what that would have been like had we had a roof over our heads! I've not read the plans, but it would make perfect sense to develop the RE first, then move the Pop side fans temporarily into the new stand once complete, so they can then start developing the Pop. Pop side ST holders should have first refusal on seats on the new Pop too, because there's nothing worse than having your seat taken by day trippers. I'm not sure the club would give two sh**s about this, however, as they can't even be arsed replying to emails* when you've had a problem with a match stream, so I wouldn't hold my breath on them doing the right thing when the new stands go up. *Yes, I'm still pissed off about that.
