Even though we made ten changes, some of those who came in are very good footballers still! Well done County.

Just seen the highlights. I know Woots will get MoM, but how good was Paddy today? That cross for the 4th - outstanding skill and how did he see it? So pleased Bailey got his goal at the end. Fair play to Worksop, it looked like they came to play football, and not just lump it up field. We're overdue a cup run, so a favourable draw for the second round, please 😁

Paddy's easily got another season in him with us, at least. I hope he does stay beyond this season because his vision, especially from deeper positions, is just class.
He's not just a goalscorer, he's a quality footballer.

BBC Highlights: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/67215909Paddy's passing was phenomenal, but that pace he showed at 2-1 when he stormed to the Cheadle End byline to cross for Powell was fantastic. When is his current contract up? If it's next Summer, DC surely has to talk him into staying, he's still got plenty left in the tank.

The first half shows the gulf between the first and 'second' team players. Great to see Woots get the double brace and Odin scoring his first goal for us. Job done -lets hope we get a juicy draw for the next round. Was their goal off side?
Special mention to their 1419 fans - who made a lot of noise and brought a lot more fans than a lot of League 2 teams.

All the more reason to check out the highlights of Swindon 4 Aldershot 7,
There's a couple of peachy goals by Aldershot in there, fingers crossed they'll have used up a fair bit of their luck in the win.
Either way this is not an easy tie - a long distance trip and they will be full of confidence.

The Recreation Ground's been a tricky venue for County, too. We've triumphed there on our last two trips (in 2021 and 2022), but before that visited 26 times without a win.
Oh - and the 'old' Aldershot put seven past us in 1964!

It'll be interesting to see how Swindon do against Cole U on Tuesday night ahead of our visit next Sat.
