Hmm, so what can I add to the preview on COWS and my earlier note on FGR?
Well, they've been active in the transfer and loan markets bringing in ex-Walsall MF Jacob Maddox (2 goals in 32 apps last term) and ex Womble Alfie Bendle (17 apps), Everton D Reece Welch on the season-long loan thing, Ex-Birmingham and Watford F Troy Deeney as a player coach, Ex-MKDon MF Nathan Holland (37 apps), Ex-Coventry FB Fankaty Dabo (131 apps over 4 years) and Callum Morton on another season long etc from Salford City. So I make that 7 signings in the early part of the season and it is only to be expected that, a bit like County, it may take them some time to find their best formation and style of play. Then again, they've also lost a few players to injury - Hull's MF Callum Jones joined on a season long loan and then fractured his leg so he will be out until Christmas, also out is D Jordan Moore-Taylor with a leg injury which may keep him out for 6 - 12 weeks. Top scorer is player coach Troy Deeney on 4, then Tyrese Omotoye and Matt Stevens on 2 apiece and then 3 others on 1 each. Their D is looking a bit shaky having conceded 20 this term, although that is still 3 better than Wrecktum. Their 2 wins were both on the road and both 0-1 against Harrogate and Sutton, their 1 D came against the Wombles on opening day 1-1. So all in all very modest and even with the new signings they already look set for a grim season that County fans of a certain vintage will remember at EP.
Elsewhere in L2 some tasty looking fixtures: Crewe (7th) v Gillingham (4th) Disappointing Donny (21st) v Crawley (2nd) Harrogate T (16th) v AFC Wombles (6th) Mansfield (5th) v Wrecktum (9th) Notts County (1st) v Swindon (3rd)
So the table may well see a good sorting out tonight, and I'll repeat something I posted on the Accy Stanley match thread - County's first 10 games saw them play 6 of the current top 10 sides and all of County's opponents were placed 15th or better. So that's a fairly stiff start, but now, in Oct, County face 2 mid table sides 1 top 7 (Crewe) and the rest are at the low end of the table. I suspect we'll be sitting fairly pretty when Nov rolls around. Anyway: fingers crossed.

Our front line are finally scoring, we have been too reliant on madden in the last few years

2-0 up, they're down to 10. Time to show no mercy

I guess this is what happens when you leave a bloody good football manager to do his job.
There were some prominent posters elsewhere that were actually wanting him to go just over a month ago, which I found absolutely staggering.
There was only one problem I could see, and it wasn't DC. For example, it wasn't DC who bet the farm on biscuit-ankled Nick Powell to boost his own ego, I'll leave you to guess who that was.

Easy win against a very poor team. I put them being poor down to their menus.
For large parts a boring game with the tippy tappy passes to draw the high press.
Pleased Bailey and Macca played.

Yet another f***ing horrendous tackle on Macca, it's getting ridiculous now. Tanto really is starting to play with confidence, and Sarc seems to be back to his best too - that volley in the second half was brilliant.
Hopefully Macca isn't showing any ill-effects after that tackle.
Congrats to DC, his staff and players. The FL can shove their manager of the month award, though, they're nothing but bad luck.
