Lest anyone think why Preston? There are quite a few County connections there, off the top of my head:
Preston being the club from whom we acquired County Legend Mike Flynn and Not-Quite-Such-A-Legend Martin James.
It was also where County Legend Sean Connolly made his debut and Not-Quite-Such-A-Legend Peter Duffield also debuted (if I remember right).
Didn't we also once play Preston in the League Cup but the Away leg (for us) was at Gigg Lane because Preston were having to get rid of their plastic pitch? OK, so that's not really a connection, more of a factoid....

I'd personally like to see us get Blackpool over for a friendly too, or even a nice Summer's day out at their place - how long has it been since we played them?

In last season's opener at home we were 3-0 down to Barrow in about half an hour. Players weren't sharp in general and some were absolutely way off it. I think our final 2 pre-season games were Alty and City U21s.
It was all too similar to the previous season's opener when we got stuffed by Dagenham at home. That pre-season I think we had Fleetwood XI, Guiseley and Burnley U23s the week before season start.
I just hope we're more ready next time to be 'at it' on day one.

Great idea to have the 2 x 60 minute halves, to allow a shed load of players to get match time. I am guessing the 28/07 will be a Utd or City line up.... just a guess.
