No doubt he'll add some zest to our attack.
This is another great signing.

There are lots of very positive comments from York fans over him. Always good to see…and another free transfer!

This certainly suggests that DC wants County to be a very attacking team - I'd still like to see another CH to provide cover (or even be a starter in a back 3) and an experienced GK - I'm not sure about Ethan Ross but I'd love it if he turned out to be great.

This seems like another good signing.
I'd like to see an announcement regarding Ash next, he deserves his crack at the FL.
I see Wilson getting his comments in before DC in that article. Why can't that guy just shut the f*** up and stop trying to raise his own profile? We didn't hear from him for months until we got promoted, then as soon as we're crowned champions he's like s**t in a field.
Utter gobshite. I will never warm to him.

“Akil is a player with physical attributes above the level, and after playing..."

OK so that just leaves the experienced L1 or L2 GK..... in which context I mean no offence to Ethan Ross who has been on the books of WBA, Colchester and Lincoln City but he only played 4 games, total, for all 3 clubs together (and all of those were at Cole U). So the vast majority of his games have been at Worcester City, Redditch, Maidstone, Weymouth and Aldershot.
The two new MFs do make me wonder if either, or both, of Collar and Croasdale may be attracting attention from higher up the league and if so, and if offer(s) were to come in, then maybe their moving on would help to further establish County as a club to come to if you want to further your career.
NB: I am not, in any way, saying I want either, or both, of C&C to go. Long may the remain and play as effectively as they have: but it always helps if a club is seen as a good career move - football being such a short career at the best of times.
It also makes me think that the squad is now rather full - I make it 27 players at present - so I suspect that there will be a couple of departures in the near future, hopefully so that the players in question can further their careers.

While he's clearly not to everyone's taste (deliberately understated!), Wilson does seem to have put a coherent transfer policy in place. Over the last 18 months or so, fees were paid for players with EFL experience as a turbo boost to getting out of the National League as quickly as possible.
With that achieved we are now acquiring players with a different profile, ie younger players from the National League who are not yet in their prime but who, to DC's eye, are capable of taking the next step up. Add in that most are free agents and it adds up to a thought out strategy.

Add in that most are free agents and it adds up to a thought out strategy. After a poor first decision on Rusk and some panicy loans to try and paper over that error, our recruitment has been very good. No doubt Wilson is a big part of that. Given his creds, he should be good at his job and it's hard criticise his transfer strategy, as you say. We've now got some excellent players for our level that fit with DCs playing style. The problem is that he is a bit of a PR nightmare. He comes across as someone who has little care for the club and even less for the fans. Perception is reality, so he's best keeping out of the press as he does himself, and the club, no favours.
