Notts County site - Ticket sales for our Vanarama National League play-off eliminator match against Grimsby have surpassed 10,000.
We welcome the Mariners to Meadow Lane on Monday 23 May (kick-off 7.45pm) for what promises to be an enthralling battle to reach the semi-finals and our chief executive Jason Turner is delighted with the response so far.
“As anticipated, it looks like we’re heading for a huge crowd and brilliant atmosphere,” said Turner.
“I know Ian Burchnall and his team are thrilled with the support and are determined to repay it with a strong performance on the night.
It looks like Grimsby have sold their 2000 allocation.

I'd like to see Notts County come up with us. I know they've not really suffered as much as us, Wrexham and - to a lesser extent - Grimsby, but I'll never forget our fall into Non-league and the feeling of "we will get back up next season" quickly being replaced by one of 'sh*t, we're not getting out of here any time soon'.
I wouldn't wish that on any traditional Football League club, so I'd like them to end their exile sooner than we ended ours.
As for Deadpool Red Dragons, they'll probably win the playoffs anyway, so it doesn't matter what I think.

Going with Halifax as 2 ex County players play for them. (Warby and Happy Gilmour).
Okay I realise Maynard plays for Solihull and Dibble for Wrexham...
If Chesterfield don't go up would Tshimanga become available? Same with Notts and Wooton or Wrexhams Palmer?
QF1 Notts County win
QF2 Halifax win

I think Solihull need to be kept an eye on. They are the form team at the moment. I don't like their style of play but it has proved effective. (My son's brother in law supports them as well).
On overall yearly performance it should be Wrexham by rights, but we said that about County last year only for it to be wazzed up the wall.

Wrexham, as we have seen, have financial backing which potentially makes them L2 promotion challengers. Notts are a big club who could put together a credible season to get out of L2. From the standpoint of "who may be least threat to us leaving L2?" I'll go with Halifax, as I feel they've already had to outperform their budget this season in the NL.

I get this wanting to have the so-called 'weaker' team come up with us, but let's not forget that League 2 will have some former League One sides coming down next season too, as well as a good few solid mainstays of the division that will also take some beating.
Having one more 'piranha in the tank' won't make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Wrexham have had their bottoms stung by Bromley today at Wembley. Can they come back from 2 disappointing weekends ?

The Welsh vote goes to Wrexham. They were the other half of the table's top two, and pushed us hard for the title - but also, to my mind, deserve promotion for having toiled in non-league world for even longer than we did.
As one or two Heaveners have hinted, they appear to have dipped at the wrong moment - although, as County discovered twice in quite quick succession recently, the Racecourse is an intimidating place to visit. I would back them to get through the Semi-final, based on that.

I might just subscribe to the service that their documentary is going to be on if they don't come up with us, it might be worth a watch just to see how they put a positive, Hollywood spin on a massive failure!
