What do you expect from my "favourite" sporting goods manufacturer. A company that basically buys its way into a sport. Sports that they have no interest in, nor history in. A company that will sue any other company that formally produced the official gear for a team when in fact they are making a generic classic shirt of years past (they lost). A company who buys a local sports gear make, who has a history within the UK, then sells the brand yet keeps the jewels in that brands teams that they supply, and then of course milks the market for all that is worth with products that are made in a far eastern sweatshop for peanuts, yet knows it can sell the same product for up to 90 times the made price. All I can say is THANK GOD County dropped them as the supplier recently. I hate them, I hate them with a passion. I will never EVER buy a product with that swoosh on it.........

agreed offy. however much they broke umbro, i'm really glad that we're wearing umbro kits at the moment. feels much more like us. nike are latecoming cuckoos in the football nest, and it's a great shame that their brutal economics makes them so prominent in the sport now.

I could not agree more A_R_S. Having Umbro feels local, it really does. I know the kits are made in Bangladesh or what ever, and probably in sweatshops too, but if there is an upside to this and it is very loose, it is Umbro, who have a local HQ. On the other hand Umbro are still owned by another Yank Corp, and they are made in sweatshops, but at least the are not trying to take over the world.
As an aside, did you know that a few years ago, Nike tried to create a TV sports channel with the desire that all Nike supplied teams would be shown. Oh and probably controlled too. Needless to say it fell down flat.
