Wilson needs to follow.

A disaster from the start, and an appointment that should never have been made.
Wilson really needs to be held to account for this, though, as it was all down to him and his 'project'.
I don't wish Rusk any ill, but I said from the start it was a mistake. I wonder where we would be now had we not made this change in the first place?
I won't hold my breath for a proper replacement either, that's if Wilson really is as involved in the first team as we suspect. More of the same, I fear.
Mark Stott may be taking a step back, but he can't hide from this. The next appointment has to be right.
I'm not confident.

Hahahaha, good luck with that one. Likes the salary, likes the job title but responsibility yeah, f*** that, responsibility is for suckers mate. Keighren needs to take a good hard look at himself too given this morning's events. His comments during last nights commentary were at best unprofessional at worst, self aggrandising bullshit because given his links with the club I suspect he knew what was coming.

Stott has to get this next appointment right, or this could turn sour very quickly, especially for County.
Everyone else in the division are laughing their b*ll*cks off at us, and that's not going to reflect well on him or his other business interests.
If he gets bored, we're pretty much finished as a club.
This needs to start working, and soon.

Good news for the club, might actually see some tactics or strategy this weekend (just imagine)
Onwards!

It makes it tempting to make the slog to Dover just to see how things pan out

I was hoping Simon Wilson would be shown the door too.
Until he goes things won’t improve. He either needs to change his role, close the laptop and just run the back office or leave. No manager worth his salt would work under him in his current role, and we’ll end up appointing Rusk mark II ie a young and ambitious manager hoping to make his way in football management.
After the Rusk debacle Wilson really does need to come out with a statement explaining what went wrong, how our present position has improved on that left by Gannon and what the target is for this season.
For all that I do feel sorry for SR he was put in an impossible position who did the best he could.
Also I hope JK has learnt a lesson from his gushing praise of the new regime and wind his neck and be a bit more professional.

Conlon couldn't ask for an easier match to start with (or could he ?)
Something needs to be sorted before we go to Bolton though.
Surely the Director of football has had some input into the club's direction of football. Otherwise he could be sued under the Trades Descriptions Act.

Good post, HH.
Although I don't wish any ill towards Rusk and hope that he can recover from this elsewhere in a role that suits his skills, I just can't feel sorry him. He surely interviewed for and accepted the position while Jim was still in the job and working hard for the club he loves, so he gets no sympathy from me. As I said to Sandy earlier today - you live by the sword...
Besides which, I'm sure his substantial settlement will help smooth things over for him.
He should never have been appointed in the first place.

No need for a process. They need to pick up the phone to the man at Hyde and beg him to come back and finish what he started. Give him free rein and ship out any players who don't toe the line or react to being shouted at for not following his tactics.
Surprised there is no the DoF said part to that statement.
Good luck to SR in his next position.

I confess when I first saw the headline of the press release I wondered if Mark McGhee would step in as interim manager. For Hatters of a certain vintage (Boring, Boring Reading!) that would have been hard to swallow.
Putting to one side who will get the job what aspects do they need to work on? Is it team selection and tactics? Is it the balance of the team - e.g. do we have enough left-footed players? (For me one of Dave Jones' best acts was signing Chris Marsden, partly because he was a terrific midfield scrapper but mostly because he was left footed so balanced the centre of midfield). Is it the psychological make up of the team - are there too many players who want to be the leader? That's a real risk when building any kind of team, especially if the cheque book has been waved around a bit.

Surprised there is no the DoF said part to that statement. Very good point, Ceef. He loves taking the 'credit' for everything else, but doesn't want to comment on his manager's departure and risk having to own this complete f***ing disaster. The guy would be right at home at 10 Downing Street. He's a fraud and he's currently getting away with it, but he won't be able to hide forever.

That's a real risk when building any kind of team, especially if the cheque book has been waved around a bit. I think our squad is a real mixed bag of genuine ambitious talent, last big pay-day players, egos and panic signings - the new manager really will have a job on his hands sifting through that lot. I'm really looking forward to seeing Dave's team selection and formation for Dover. If it's the same as we've seen thus far this season, then it could well be an indicator as to just who decides who and how we play. I hope he's given full control and is allowed to do it his way, but I won't be holding my breath.

A contingent in the CE showed their displeasure with SW at last nights match.
SW obviously sold SR the dream ticket - I mean SR didnt have to change much at all from JG's team which was 4th with games in hand.
His undoing was the need to bring in his own U23 men who were no better than what JG had in place anda the apparent lack of a plan B or C.
The U23 model will not work at this level and we have seen JG's team demolish visiting U23 teams in pre season friendlies.
No words to say on JK apart from the word 'Yes' features.
Bring back JG.
