1) Turnover of players has been so high we don’t even know. Many would say Rooney, but his arrogance and ego is sometimes to the detriment of the team. Ash Palmer is a rock at the back.
2) Because we have an incompetent DoF obsessed with stats and spreadsheets playing Football Manager with someone else’s money who hired a useless kids football coach as manager on a 3 and a half year deal.
3) There have been so many and they have probably taken us backwards.
4) I understand we often like to play negative, 5 at the back football but I am avoiding watching us at the moment. Rusk isn’t a manager he’s a c***.
5) Not very - enjoy the three points.

Hi Wrexhamfan,
Welcome to Heaven! Or after our start is it Hell??
Here's my opinion...
Q1. Who are your key players ? Any of Jim Gannon's players that are left.
Q2 County have had a rough start to this campaign why is this? Sh*te manager that is learning on the job, unproven and wet behind the ears.
Q3 Who are your new signings and have they made an impact? Quigley, Only impact he's made is keeping the physio busy.
Q4 What formation do you play ? and what's your thoughts on the manager ? Looks like 9-1-1. Loves to play defensive, Clueless.
Q5 How confident are you for the game on Saturday? 1% sure we'll get all 3 points. 99% sure we'll get a battering again.
Sorry I can't be more helpful but the current Stockport County feels alien to me and I just can't seem to get any get up and go about them at the moment!

Thanks for joining wf.
And thanks for chucking in the hand grenade with those questions.
I'd echo much of what gts has said.
I'd add Southam-Hales to the list and Ben Hinchliffe (great in the box, average distributor, but a loyal, consistent player for us)
Our biggest problem is sacking a successful leader and replacing him with bog standard innumerable middle managers.
We seem clueless, directionless and have lost our identity.
Really sad and its happened pretty quickly.
Looks like you've got sensible owners who are letting a good, experienced manager get on with it.
Something we can only dream of now and I hope it continues for you.
Good luck for the season. Your guaranteed 3 points at the weekend will help...

Q1. Who are your key players?
The ones likely to play and who might catch an opponent supporter's eye are probably:
Macauley Southam-Hales - lightning fast right wing-back
Mark Kitching - 6'3 left wing-back (but only now returning from 7 months out)
John Rooney - a showreel player who scores goals/long-shots (but can otherwise be anonymous)
-----
Q2 County have had a rough start to this campaign why is this?
Simply put, we're been worse than we were as a part-time side 2 years ago. Our last credible win at Edgeley Park was 13 home games ago (against a decent Eastleigh side).
-----
Q3 Who are your new signings and have they made an impact?
Ethan Ross - Goalkeeper signed from League One on 3-year deal. No impact as not played yet.
Ben Barclay - Centre back signed from League One on 3-year deal. No impact as mostly played in a position he says he's never played.
Will Fish - Young centre back signed from Man Utd on season-long loan. No impact as only played the opener before heading out on international duty.
Zeki Fryers - Newly arrived centre back/left back coming from League Two. Some impact as he has a left foot and so provides balance that was missing until a couple of weeks ago.
Arjan Raikhy - Young midfielder signed from Aston Villa on season-long loan. Some impact as provides different type of midfielder (has legs) but hasn't featured since complaining he felt unwell, being started anyway and then having to be subbed 30 minutes in.
Ben Whitfield - Winger signed on a 2-year contract from Torquay. Some impact helping at wing back but played out of position.
Scott Quigley - Forward signed from League Two on 3-year deal. No impact as he injured hamstring pre-season and was then seemingly rushed back, breaking down minutes into his return.
Kenan Dünnwald-Turan - Month-long loan forward without a number at parent club (Scunthorpe). Our press release read like an apology to the fanbase for signing him! One sub appearance and not featured since.
-----
Q4 What formation do you play and what's your thoughts on the manager?
3-4-1-2. This is his first senior management job having come from a coaching role at Brighton U23s (in which he had done well). He inherited a County side competing at the top last season and which had lost narrowly to West Ham, but we unfortunately seem to have gone backwards, even though League One/Two players were brought in, along with 2 assistant managers to help him.
Q5 How confident are you for the game on saturday?
Anything can happen in a single game of football, and you (Wrexham) have a new manager and new players still bedding in, right? So that's the positive for us. We've not shown much so it's more a hope that you don't either.

Q5 How confident are you for the game on saturday? Hi, mate thanks for stopping by. I'd say it's all been covered here already, with every negative comment being absolutely how it is with County. In spite of all the money and big ideas our new owner has brought in, I would go back to the old owners and the part-time/full-time hybrid set up we had with Jim Gannon in a heartbeat. Our National League North championship-winning team would absolutely destroy the team we have now, and that's no exaggeration - we are garbage. If nothing changes and we play exactly the same way on Saturday as we have been since the season started, you're going to f***ing murder us.

Hi, it could be anyone's game and it really depends on who turns up and who is anonymous. There appears to be huge pressure on the County players to win after the awful score last Saturday. I think whoever scores first will go on to win. Apparently our heads dropped when Warby scored for Halifax. Not sure why when they are supposed to be seasoned professionals.
Standouts - Hinchliffe, Palmer, Keane (if back), Minihan, Kitching, Southam-Hales.
Reid and Madden if the midfield provide any service.
Rooney can be hugely influential.

Rooney can be hugely influential You got that right, Ceef, far too influential - he who shan't be dropped. The day we get shut of him and Hogan can't come soon enough. If we had ten players with the attitude and commitment of Ash, Sam & MSH, plus a manager that could keep his balls away from Simon Wilson's grip, we'd be flying.

thanks for sharing, wf.
It's a good listen and summed up the situation at County well:
On paper we've some top quality players, probably the strongest squad in the league, should be doing better, big risk replacing a successful experienced manager with a young inexperienced manager, a risk you're glad Wrexham didn't take based on the evidence, should be a cracking atmosphere at EP, this game could be make or break for Rusk.
Agree with all your analysis (except the comment that Rusk should be given until November - although he probably will).
I woke early this morning as my tinnitus is really bad at the moment as I was hoping your podcast would send me back to sleep. Sadly it failed and I listened to the whole thing 😄.
Keep up the good work.
