Evening everyone,
With Maccy enjoying a childless evening with Mrs Macc in a hotel (make of that what you will), it falls to me to bring today's programme article to the masses - hope you enjoy it, and make the most of it, as there are only two more to go before the end of the season:

Good afternoon everyone, and a warm CH welcome to those travelling fans from Hednesford. Interesting fact: Hednesford are my third favourite “team-with-a-silent-‘d’-in-their-name”, after Sheffield Wednesday and Bratfud.
Sadly, County’s recent flirtatious glances towards the play-offs came to an end faster than Fudgie’s stint in the latest County Heaven Poker Tournament, so it is, in fact, to the Games Room where many of our members have once again turned their attention.
Sir Roger has continued his run of good form, taking first place in Lennie’s Limerick Lounge for “Guiseley - Part I” (with Gazza taking the plaudits for the return leg at EP and Downy for the Solihull competition), while Dudley has romped – or ‘arrogantly sauntered’, to be more precise (and Spanish) about it – to a clear victory in “No Spain, No Gain”. Meanwhile, the Prediction League is the tightest it has been for a while, with those scrapping at the top being very much like a United fan’s ears – there’s precious little between them.
Lastly, for those of you wondering what the answer was to the teaser in our last article – what has Maccy been smearing hot caramel sauce over? – the answer was... pancakes! Thank you for all the suggestions sent in to the CH mail room over the last two weeks; suffice to say it’s no longer County that I’m seeing my therapist about.
I tell you what, Maccy, that was almost a sticky wicket. How were your trips to the West Midlands mucka?
Hatter in Macc writes:
The journeys were fine, thanks, Sandy. I took a seat aboard ‘The Finger Flyer’ on Tuesday, although last Saturday – given that it involved driving twice around Britain’s ’second city’ – my vehicle of choice had to be the Brum-Brum (and, indeed, Boom! Boom!).
Moving swiftly on, then, to the football – but sticking, if we may, with the West Midlands, as, rather quirkily, County’s fixture-list has this season featured two trilogies of consecutive matches against teams from that region. The second of these sequences concludes with today’s game, and, so far, thanks to drawing against Worcester, we have already equalled the tally of a solitary point (gained at home to Solihull) that the previous such set of three games yielded.
Prior to stopping the away-day rot in Worcester’s temporary Kidderminster abode, the reverse at Solihull Moors was County’s fifth successive defeat on the road – so it is of some comfort to be back at Edgeley Park, where we have not lost in over three months! Not that Hednesford will make life easy this afternoon, going all out, as they are, for a second promotion running via the play-offs. They looked a well-organised side when hosting, and ultimately defeating, us in the driving January rain – although did enjoy numerical advantage for much of that occasion, following a rather-too-early bath for Tunji Moses! Somewhat ominously, too, an ex-Hatter, Marvin Robinson, has been scoring goals for fun in their colours recently – including a late brace a week ago, when he had only been on the pitch for The Pitmen a matter of minutes!
Let us hope that County can keep Big Marv quiet today, and that ‘The Twelfth Man’ can generate some not-inconsiderable noise, to great effect, in the process!
Enjoy the game.
Animo et Fide.
