In view of Macclesfield's demise, we are spared a fixture tomorrow - no bad thing, following a return to action, and something of a marathon contest, only yesterday! - so next up, the first of two successive trips to London and the chance to play in front of crowds (albeit local ones).
A week tomorrow, we are in North London to meet Barnet on what may be a pudding of a pitch, but, firstly, a trip to the 'Sarf' of the city and the 3G playing surface at Bromley.
You know what to do...

The match is on a 4G pitch. Good that County have been raining at Aquinas college on the same surface

Fantastic feeling having league football back Again. A good couple of weeks training means County come out of the blocks fast and Thirteen minutes in score their 1st on the way to a 2-1 win

It's always an unknown on 4G 'grass' but like Cf I reckon we'll edge it with a 2-1 win

It all depends, Lennie. How many of these things did you manage to do? - Salute the magpie. - Say ‘Good morning general’, ‘Good morning captain’, .‘Good morning Mr Magpie, how is your lady wife today?’, ‘Good morning Mr Magpie, how are Mrs Magpie and all the other little magpies?’, or ‘Hello Jack, how’s your brother?’ - Doff your hat. - Spit three times over your shoulder. - Blink rapidly on each occasion to fool yourself into thinking you had seen two magpies (for joy). - Flap your arms like wings and caw loudly to mimic the magpie’s missing mate. Three out of those six, and I reckon we shall be fairly safe...

Good start so far overall. They've pinned Thomas with a runner twice already (flattening out our defence) and put in 2 unchallenged balls from deep left as a consequence - a common tactic against a back 3. They had the early shot and then the break from our corner.
We've had decent moments in various ways too and look quite sharp up top. Good liveliness from Reid to pressure the clearance back into their goal.

Good play from us to work it to Kitching and then set up a box chance for Reid on his left foot... could have done with that going in.
They had an absolute sitter when we stayed deep (marking their CB on 2nd phase) and their unpressured ball from their own half found their head in the box, the knock down was won by them and then their man was unmarked at the back post too... a chain of 3 things where we were 2nd best.
And its their aerial threat when they commit a big lad from the back which seems a good bet for them... whether we'll sub a smaller pkayer (CJ) for a bigger one (Williams) we shall see, but with Palmer out we don't seem as commanding so more help orobabky needed back there on set plays.
JJ saved us a goal and had earlier flown in to block a box edge shot... really important stuff from him so far.

Interesting first half although we're possibly fortunate to be in front on clear chances. I'd take issue with the commentators over the challenges on Reid and Thomas. Although fouls can only be awarded when play is active players can be booked for misconduct at any time, including after the ball is dead. On that basis Bush may consider himself fortunate to be still on the field.

Agreed, clear yellows but the common 'blurb' is just what the commentators said. Kinda gives the impression you can do what you like once the ball is dead. On the flip side, really good stream/presentation from Bromley so fair play.
Always a wory to see Thomas stay down with his previous injury on his debut season.

Heh... JG rearranged the throw, we worked it right across the pitch and Sam gets a good kow ball in for Rooney to convert!

Decent game and one of those where Bromley could have played for another 90 and not scored... one of those days for them.
Minihan coming on secured that side and it became less of a worry that they would get so many chances of uncontested crosses. They tried down their right a bit more but the diag was then at Keane rather than JJ and their forward never really looked up to much.
Great to see fans back in and hopefully it'll be out turn soon.
Well done to JG in nullifying what he could mid-game and to the boys for grinding it out for an important 3 points.

Good win, against in-form hosts on an unfamiliar surface. Lennie must have been more courteous to that magpie than he let on...!
