Almost without notice, the National League fixtures are to be published on Tuesday (8th).
Despite the strangest of build-ups to a new season, shall we, just for fun, run our usual mini-predictions/guessing game along the lines of:
1. Opening-day opponents?
2. Boxing Day/New Year's Day 'double-header' opponents?
3. Final-day opponents?

Two very long-distance treks - to Torquay and Yeovil, respectively - with which to begin and end the campaign, then. And a trilogy in between of daunting midweek schleps - to Barnet, as well as to newly-promoted King's Lynn and Weymouth. The Christmas/New Year double-header, mercifully, is only along the road at Alty.

So far as our guessing game was concerned - take a bow, Lennie, for impressively predicting both the curtain-raiser at Torquay and the season's closer at Yeovil! Honorary mentions to Duds and Footiefan for picking out Altrincham as our festive season oppos.

Yahoo !
I only picked Torquay and Yeovil because of the distances involved and thinking of Macca on the road. At least he wont have to do that in Winter.
Alty over the holiday period is the commonsense choice.

Would have marginally preferred Macc. But only to save myself from having to drive after a festive evening of merriment!
