Not good news as Elliot Osbourne has joined Stevenage. Do we have better? I think we should have kept him. I was a fan of Osborne so sorry to see him go. I may be wrong but I get the impression that JG doubted his consistency over the full season. He was certainly never guaranteed a start. Given the effects of Covid-19 on the season and knock-on effects on football finances I suspect that there may be better available before the start of the next season

Yes - agree broadly with jlc and nye. Decent player, who did well for us - but also tended to blow hot and cold a tad. I wish him all the best, but think he might have jumped on the wrong bus by opting for Stevenage.

I think we'll bring in better players. He'll make a good quiz question in a few years. Quiz question 😂

Lee Mair Ian Ironside Lee Ramoon
all have more vowels than consonants but I think Adie is the percentage winner.

Other 50-plus-percenters:
Kayode Odejayi Joe Reid (early '20s) Dave Cooke (late '60s)
Had high hopes for Mansour Assoumani - but, alas, his vowels and consonants are equally divided!

Goodbye Festus and good luck www.hullcitytigers.com/festus-arthur-the-first-interview/HULL CITY ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OF FESTUS ARTHUR FROM STOCKPORT COUNTY FOR AN UNDISCLOSED FEE. The 20-year-old, who was born in Hamburg and is of Ghanaian descent, has penned a three-year deal with a Club option of a further year. A powerful centre-half who can also operate in midfield, Arthur has been a regular for the Hatters in the National League this season, making 32 appearances and scoring two goals. Speaking after completing his move to the KCOM Stadium, Arthur said: “I’m very happy to be a Hull City player. It’s something that’s been going on for a while now and I’m just excited to finally join the club.

I've never got that undisclosed fee b*ll*cks, why can't they tell us what he's gone for?

Possibly because it's embarrassingly low, set against the quality and potential of the player, matey? (I'm guessing at that, by the way, and I've no inside info.)
But, when all's said and done, good luck to Festus. He's earned himself a great opportunity here, and he could also become one of the game's high-profile characters! Nowhere near enough of them about these days...

Good luck to Festus and Elliot as they move on.
The latter's tally of goals and assists during the season was impressive, hinting at the kind of stats he produced from midfield in the lower reaches before getting a move into the FL. But, as mentioned already, to really push on you need to be consistent and have that 'even if this game isn't suiting me, I'm going to make a difference' desire too.
Festus just seemed to appear out of nowhere... which, given his size, was a feat in itself. From early sub appearances looking like he had the confidence (if not yet the potitioning) of a veteran, he was a big breath of fresh air. You couldn't help but notice his presence... few have that, and so young too. He carried himself incredibly well and would surely have been challenging the more experienced CBs across this coming season... but, perhaps, not a first choice just yet. It seemed obvious there would be interest and hopefully it works out well for us with the sell-on and he can grow into a proper defender with a good career.

This is a huge opportunity for Festus and I sincerely hope he's a success for his own sake and the club's finances! This reminds me of Josh Thompson who came in midway through the 08/09 season and ended up getting a move to Celtic that Summer.
Hopefully this move works out well for Festus, he's come in, done his job and got a good move! Best of luck to him!

On the contract negotiations I hope that we can convince Ash and Ben to stay and go full time. We just don't know which other clubs may come in from L1 or 2.
Either way we need some news from the club sooner than later.
