Fitting him into the team is going to be difficult especially if we go with 2 (Reid and Bennett) up top.
IMO 3 at the back with 2 defensive midfielders doesn't work for me as we can end up with half the team within touching distance of each other and our wing backs can be isolated when we are under the cosh. 3 players ahead of Lois Maynard give us limited options for getting up the pitch. It's also a system that brings confusion when players get dragged out of position, 4 at the back gives clarity so that the opponents they are marking don't continually change.
I'm fairly sure that Rusk will go with 4-1-3-2 or 4-2-3-1 with Rooney at the center of the 3 with 2 of the cast of many either side of him.

A good signing to the end of the season but we seem to have a glut of midfielders already so I am a little confused.

In the context of Williams not yet reaching the standard we expect from him, together with Thomas seemingly not favoured (going off selections), this addition might prove valuable as he can play either side or through the middle behind the forward/s. And if needs be, he should be able to cover Kitching (think he spent time at LB in a prior season - maybe FCUM?).
Should we start Reid and Bennett, there does continue to be a question over where the competition is coming from up top/a bench option.

Manager Simon Rusk said:
“Listen........I’m pleased to be able to welcome Sam to the Club – his addition further complements our attacking options in the squad, at a time where the games are coming thick and fast.”
Compliments our attacking options?? He will be our attacking option!!
Welcome to County Sam

The COWS article isn’t very well written. A couple of mistakes in there.
Must be the new culture.

Good luck Sam, but to be honest in the wake of the announcement that NLN and NLS are ceasing, surely there are some good strikers out there who would want to carry on playing and could be loaned to the club

From Watford's website:
“It's a good move for Sam,” said Academy Manager Richard Thomas. “They've been looking for a centre-forward, a target man and Sam fits the bill. He is also good in and around the box and scores goals. We are expecting him to get game time. It's a positive move for him and we expect him to be successful at that level.”

Cardwell is a traditional point attacker who can hold it and bring in others. He caused all sorts of issues for defenders in much higher leagues during the FA Cup run and I would think he's due a move up the pyramid. Reid prospers when Bennett is doing well so I can understand bringing him in, even if we've just taken Dalby for a month. Lots of games, pitches are poor and this guy is genuinely physical, even if his looks and hair might suggest otherwise! Add in the mix that Bell isn't part of the plans (by the looks of things) and Bennett doesn't appear to maintain his best across a full 90, it looks a decent one to me.
Newby, who was often overshadowed (I thought) by his brother's performances, is more a second line attacker. Again, Thomas seems to be out of favour so that's one option gone. With MSH probably now injured and not sure if CJ/Walker are due back, at least it's another option.
Good luck to them both.

Welome to County fella's.
Though i'm not impressed with our needs to drop down a division to find players they can't be any worse that we've already got, if they don't score any goals for the next 3 games then we're no worse off!!

www.stockportcounty.com/squad/shwan-jalal/No announcement of this arrival, or indeed the departure of Karlos Lenaghan. We now have a huge list of staff working at the club, yet none of them can use a keyboard and t'internet?
