So, no practice kickabout with the 'Dale Reserves this evening. Let us, then, fast-forward to Saturday and our third long haul of February!
Post all the usual malarkey here...

This will be a long trip with the coach leaving Stockport at 8.15am. I heard the team went down today so hopefully they will be rested tomorrow and really up for it. I dont expect an easy game but looking forwards to grabbing 3 points even if it is a steal.

Full-time - 1-0 County!
Into the play-off places, courtesy of a late headed winner from Ash!
Congrats to Jim, his staff, his players and everyone else involved!

That was a cold afternoon, but at least Ash Palmer's header warmed the cockles. The wind was a real leveller throughout and when the rain came down it was more like ice cold water but!
I thought most of the players coped well with the conditions - the pitch looked very heavy and the ball almost stopped on it a couple of times. Ebbsfleet I thought played well in patches and probably will feel that they deserved a share of the spoils, but that's football and Palmer's head certainly showed the strikers how to do it today.
Player highlights: Hinch was his usual poised self assured keeper, with a couple of really good saves Palmer - very solid Minahan - ran and ran, a few good crosses and a couple of good blocks Lloyd - never stopped running and trying to create
Lowlights: Cowan - first half - dreadful, second much better Bell - how is he a professional footballer?
Moments to watch on the hi-lights: The scramble in the first half where the ball pinballed in the Fleet penalty area - looked amazing from the far end The fan's scramble for the covered seats when the rain/hail hit Ash's goal
A great day out, but I was glad to get on a warm train back to St Pancras at 5pm!

Danny Lloyd made me laugh early in the first half when yet another wind-caught clearance went zooming fifty feet over his head. He spread his arms wide, turned in the direction of Ben Hinchliffe and shouted "Are you taking the f*@$ing p*#s?"

He spread his arms wide, turned in the direction of Ben Hinchliffe and shouted "Are you taking the f*@$ing p*#s?" Saw that and laughed - it summed up the conditions. What we need is a hybrid; 'Hinchson', shot stopping Hinchliffe combined with Ormsons precision kicking. 😀

Superb County coverage in the Ebbsfleet match programme. Even covered our 3 records and world record.
