Time, gentlemen, please.
Our final player is Ederson.
Quite a few of you with full marks this week, one of whom is our current leader, Market Harborough, which means he maintains his position at the top of the table as we head towards the all-important link and bonus points:
1. Market Harborough 23 2. Maccy 22 3= Archie 21 Epworth 21 5. BBLW 20 6. Hermann 18 7. Bradninch 13 8. Gazz 9 9. Ceefer 7
Time, then, for the link to be revealed...

If we cast our minds back to the very start of the quiz, I gave you the following hints to the link:
1. It is neither a word nor a name; 2. I mentioned that this quiz would be my last before turning 40.
And, if you take the initials of all the players throughout the quiz, they look a little like this:
Wayne Hennessey (WH) Alexander Tettey (AT) Isaac Success (IS) Maya Yoshida (MY) Ederson (E)
Or, when placed together, WHAT IS MY AGE.
And, for the next few weeks at least, my age is 39! So, the link is neither a word nor a name, it is a number!
Oh, and as an additional bit of help throughout the quiz, I actually gave you a clue to the following week's player when announcing the results each Friday (which some of you spotted quite early on). So, at the end of Week 1, for example, I concluded with the unusual line "See you all Monday. After all, this quiz is where it's at!" This indicated that the next player's initials would be AT.
If you don't believe me, go back through the weeks to check - all the initials were there!
Now then, to the matter of the points. At the moment, it's extremely tight at the top, and if Market Harborough was first to the link, no one can catch him. But, was he?....

No!
The first player to guess the link was actually Lennie (currently in 5th), followed by Archie who sits in joint 3rd, which means they both leap-frog the players above them to jointly claim the title! Well played, fellas.
Even more amazingly, is the way the remainder of the bonus points panned out (Eppers, then Maccy, then Market Harborough), which means they all ended up just a point behind our winners, and Bradninch crept up to claim joint 6th with Hermann!
So, without further ado, here is your final FINAL league table:
1= Archie 30 BBLW 30 3= Eppers 29 Maccy 29 Market Harborough 29 6= Bradninch 18 Hermann 18 8. Gazz 9 9. Ceefer 7
Thanks, as ever, for taking part.
The next quiz is pretty much written, and I could just about have it ready for Monday, but I've decided to have a week's break, so that I can announce the new quiz in next Saturday's matchday programme, and you never know, we may get some fresh blood taking part.
Cheers all
Sandy

I'll settle for that. Cheers Archie you can have the trophy for the first 6 months !
Annoyed that I cocked up on a couple of weeks but spotted the link early to rescue a draw.
Thanks Sandy, good one as always.

Well played, Lennie. Going for Emerson rather than Ederson in this week's toss of the coin was an error but happy to share. A half cup full.
Thanks for the challenge, Sandy. A useful distraction from home-front issues.
