Well, another home game, another 'Desmond'.
Here's the programme-piece wot we wrote...

Good evening, and a wheel-y warm welcome (and some alliteration) for the second time this season to Barrow!
It struck me this week that County Heaven really is a forum for all ages. At one end we have Macc Junior, who is now a regular in the Prediction League (if only to humiliate his Dad), and also the adolescent-likes of Shropshire and g_t_s who undoubtedly divide their time between revising and chasing girls. At the other end, we have Archie, Lennie and Sir Roger who have recently reminisced about the 1966/67 season, vinyl records, and when they fought together in WWII.*
County Heaven, for me personally, has opened up a new element to being a fan, in that I have met a number of other ‘Heaveners’ since the forum was created three years ago, and can honestly say that they are the nicest bunch of people. We’ve written a book together, we’ve walked from EP to Macclesfield (which raised nearly £2,000 for charity), we’ve contributed to the programme for over two seasons and we’ve sponsored players/His Lordship. And throughout it all we’ve had a really good laugh.
So, with that in mind, now is your chance to meet some of us! One of our members, Collinge, is organising a curry/beer get-together prior to the forthcoming fixture at Solihull on 22nd March. If you like Indian food, real ales, and witty banter – sign up to CH and come along! Who knows, maybe Maccy and I will teach you our new Scott Duxbury chant?!
Right, speak of the (Welsh) devil. Sorry for nicking your ‘wheel-y’ joke by the way…
*Ok, the bit about the war isn’t technically true… at all.

I can...erm, handle that, Sandy. It was, after all, one of my more tyre-d gags!
Due to printing deadlines, we write this before the final episode of County’s recent West Midlands games-trilogy. Fingers crossed, however, after losing at Telford, and then sharing the spoils here at EP with Solihull, the team will have completed the sequence of results neatly last Saturday by coming away from Leamington with all three points.
Unlike Solihull and Leamington, who we have only just met for the first time, Barrow, of course, feature in the County Club records with far more frequency - both from the fifty-plus years when we shared Football League status and during the last two seasons in the Conference Premier. Tonight’s meeting will be our fourth this term, and, results-wise, honours so far are even with one victory apiece and a drawn FA Trophy tie. Hopefully, it will be the Boys in Blue, as opposed to the in-form Bluebirds, who will end up shading the mini-series later this evening!
A couple of familiar faces from the last couple of seasons may feature in the visitors’ line-up tonight, as Sam Sheridan and the original subject of County Heaven player-sponsorship, Daniel O’Donnell, now ply their trade at Holker Street. We extend a welcome to both on their return - and also, slightly belatedly, to County new boy, Mark Battersby, who delighted the home faithful on his EP debut with a superbly-taken goal against Solihull. The first of what promises to be many!
Enjoy the game.
