Good afternoon, everyone.
As is customary for our award-winning (we’ll keep putting it until someone says otherwise) article, I shall let my dear pal Maccy discuss recent events on and off the pitch (good luck, mate!), while I intend to bring you up to speed with goings on at County Heaven.
First and foremost, we’ve had a baby! No, not Maccy and myself (aside from being biologically impossible, he’s not my type) but our very good friend Jarkko, who some of you may know better as the Norwegian super-fan who travels to County a few times each season. Everyone at County Heaven would like to congratulate Jarkko and his fiancée on their arrival, and we’ll apparently be welcoming baby Johanne to EP in December!
In other news, C.H.I.E.F. (County Heaven’s Index of Edgeley Favourites) has recently concluded. You’ll need to visit for the full list, but special mentions go to the winners of Weeks X and Z. Since County have never had players whose surnames start with either letter, we decided Week X would be for our favourite overseas player, and Week Z our favourite runner-up. The awards went to Luis Cavaco and Mike Flynn respectively (the latter having only just missed out in Week F due to being up against Big Kev!)
Lastly, it gives me great pride to announce that County Heaven has recently clocked up its 100,000th post in the two-and-a-half years since we were formed. Of course, the ‘film’ and ‘word association’ threads are largely responsible for that!
Right Maccy, deep breath...

Oops! Forgot where I was, for a mo’, there.
Well, where to begin with ‘The Week That Was’? (And RIP, David Frost, for starters.) Last Saturday afternoon saw County take to the field at Harrogate, in front of a sizeable away following, and with hopes of securing some points following bitterly disappointing results against Altrincham and Colwyn Bay. Inside less than two hours, however, not only were those hopes in tatters, but we had also become Manager-less.
To say that Ian Bogie’s resignation came as a shock to County Heaveners is an understatement. On the forum’s behalf, we thank Ian for what he endeavoured to do during his short spell at the Club, and wish him well for the future.
By 4:50 this afternoon, matters may, of course, have taken a further turn for the worse – as, in Gainsborough, we face the one side currently keeping us away from the basement position. And, having last term enjoyed a successful campaign which ended in eighth place, Trinity must also be feeling highly frustrated over their start to the new season. They will not make things easy today.
Let us, as County fans, hope that our team can respond in the way it did when Alan Lord last took charge as Manager. A repeat of the performance that saw us beat Forest Green back in January would do very nicely...
Get behind Lordy and the players, and make the presence of The Twelfth Man count!
