Welcome back to Edgeley Park for the final home game this term. The season may be drawing to its close, but there remains, of course, much at stake for County between now and next Saturday evening!
Since our previous notes, from the snowy side of Easter, the team has snatched a valuable point from our near-neighbours at the Moss Rose, suffered a hugely disappointing reverse in SK3 against Grimsby and, most recently, returned victorious from Alfreton after edging out the hosts by an odd goal in five. A similar set of results, and four more precious points, from our three fixtures still to come may (hopefully) prove enough...but it certainly will be all the more reassuring if we can sign off from action at EP with maximum points from the first game in the sequence this time around!
Not that the task today will be anything other than a tough one. Dartford have enjoyed an excellent campaign since their promotion to the BSP last year, and a comfortable top-half finish is all but guaranteed for them at the time of writing. Let us hope that the two midweek matches they will have played immediately prior to this afternoon’s visit will have taken their toll just a tad...
Ta-ra for now, many thanks to our readers (Mr and Mrs Reader from Pott Shrigley) for their unwavering support – and happy holidays, everyone.
In the meantime, though, be sure to get behind the players for one last hurrah! And first and foremost - Heeeere’s Sandy!...

Thanks, Maccy.
Well, here it is, the last County Heaven article of the season. Many said we’d never get this far, but thanks to our perseverance, ingenuity and some questionably-long lunch breaks at work, we’ve made it. It has been an honour to write for you wonderful folk on behalf of County Heaven and, subject to ongoing (and somewhat drawn-out) contractual negotiations, both Maccy and I sincerely hope to see you again in these pages come August (we’ll see about that – Phil B).
Many of you may now be wondering what you’ll do with yourselves over the summer months. The answer, of course, is to get onto County Heaven where we’ll be as busy as ever with close-season debate, my quizzes (unlike footballers/teachers, I don’t get the summer off), the limerick lounge, the prediction league and, Heaven forbid, that stupid film-thread. There will also be the ongoing CHIEF voting (our A-Z of County Legends) to which we have recently added EDWARDS, NEIL and FRANCIS, KEVIN - so make sure you don’t miss out on that.
Lastly, at the time of writing, the recent “Hatters Hike 2013” has raised just under £1,500 – a target we will shortly pass through – and I would like to thank everyone that took part and kindly donated. Thanks, also, to Phil who kindly allowed us into the changing rooms for a group photo before setting off.
So, that’s it. Thanks for reading and enjoy the summer. Should our demands for a parking space at EP and unlimited use of the bar be met, we’ll see you next season!
