FCUM have Salzburg and Winterthur as pre season friendlies. Okay if China is not on the cards surely County could be a bit more imaginative with the right sponsorship?

I'm a little surprised that our partnership with ESEM hasn't given us a few such opportunities, but then again, maybe it has been suggested and Jim just doesn't feel that they're very productive.

And after we voted Winterthur in for Week W of CHASM as well. No f***ing loyalty whatsoever, these Swiss. Chocolate-eating, cuckoo-clock making tossbags.

Their flag’s a big plus, though

No f***ing loyalty whatsoever, these Swiss. Chocolate-eating, cuckoo-clock making tossbags. women only got the vote in nineteen seventy f***ing one! and one canton held out for a further 20 years!
half a million children in the 19th and 20th centuries were taken from their families and put to work as indentured labour in farms.
in 2014, switzerland was ranked 2nd per capita in a list of countries exporting weapons.
this statue in bern is an ogre eating babies out of a sack. perhaps that's more suited to the 'wtf' thread.
ah, switzerland. fresh air, top quality skiing and turning the other cheek while the world goes to f***.
(ok. they can't spell 'masturbating', but still)

All these years, I never knew Spiderman was Swiss.

In mitigation they did give us the 'Fed'.

They also gave us Lindor, Ceef, but no amount of delightful little chocolatey balls can excuse them overlooking County in the pre-season schedule, or promoting Spiderman to a position of authority - only to have him sat behind a desk tugging on his spidey senses all day long.
They make me sick.
(which is true of both the Swiss as a nation, and vast quantities of Lindor)

Given that the friendlies only attract a handful of spectators, I'm not sure why playing unknown foreign teams is of any interest at all. The game against Everton U23s is the most interesting because it gives us the chance to see young players who might join on loan if there was a mutual interest. Keeping lines of communication open with clubs like Everton is clearly a good thing.

Agree about Everton, archie. Hopefully, the Phil Jevons connection might work for us there - especially if we could get hold of a couple of loanees of the calibre of Calum Dyson and Jordan Thorniley... and hang on to them for a tad longer this time!
