And don’t even start on David Ellery!!! (Different game I know but still at Wembley) Shafted us three times, he did - he really had it in for us.

Those were amazing times though, Danny Bergara did such an incredible thing to our club. Imagine if he could come now and see how many fans come to watch us at this level. His bloody big heart would swell with pride as this is ultimately down to him because of the belief he gave to many that we have the potential to be a real football club.
Thank you again Danny.

Well said, Duds. He took us to four Wembley finals in three years which, in anyone's money, deserved at least one trophy to show for it - it still guts me to this day that he never got to win one. Okay, the butterfly effect would probably mean that Jonesy would never have got the job if we could go back and change history to let Danny beat Burnley in '94, but he deserved better than what happened that day - I genuinely believe that it was that result that finally broke him. He just wasn't the same after that.

wondered which cliff he'd fallen off. weren't we watching him for a year too? i'd also forgotten downing existed. there was a time when it was john rutter and steve sherlock and dean emerson and tommy sword playing every week forever. the flickbook of county players has just accelerated to a blur nowadays.
