Just heard this on the Blackpool Fan site but it was unconfirmed.
Another one bites the dust.
RIP Eric.

He apparently collapsed while watching the darts at the echo arena here in Liverpool. A friend of my girlfriend posted a photo on Facebook that her husband had taken with him two hours ago - absolutely shocking news.

He was still posting on Twitter 4 hours ago. 2018 is doing its level best to outdo 2016, and the way it's going it will.

Jeez - that's a real shock.
RIP, the Crafty Cockney. Taken far, far too soon.

a couple of nights ago i was watching a documentary about the darts boom in the 70's and 80's and of course, he featured on that loads. cocky as f*** even years later, but with a twinkle in his eye. when i first started watching darts i wanted anyone to win but him, because at probably the same time, he was having his steve davis period, and just winning everything. always quite liked him as a personality though. RIP the very cocky crafty cockney.

Great viewing, but it's made his passing even more gutting.
He really was a one-off.

My first set of darts were an Eric Bristow ‘Crafty Cockney’ set. Great player who could have been as dominant as Phil Taylor if he didn’t suffer from dartitis.
