Pause the roll out of Universal Credit.Universal Credit is a scheme that replaces lots of different benefits. But it's been riddled with problems since it was first trialled. It's seen families relying on food banks, people forced onto the streets, even, in some cases, deaths. There's mounting opposition to Universal Credit, including influential Conservative politicians speaking against it. Let's make sure the government doesn't roll out a system that: - Makes people worse off when they transition on to it
- Has sanctions that are proven not to work
- Leaves people waiting for weeks before receiving the money they need to survive
tinyurl.com/y9tvpba8This is important, guys, so please take the time to sign it.

Agreed, Gazz-man. If you put your name to just one petition in 2018, make it this one. Duly signed, matey.

agreed, all of you; but this has been coming a long time and i fear that while opposition to it still needs to be made obvious and public like this, it's probably a bit late.

Don't put our NHS up for negotiation The NHS as we know it is at risk. A group of lobbyists have published a plan for a US-UK trade deal. They want to let American healthcare companies make money off UK patients when we're sick, vulnerable and in need of care. The lobbyists have spent the past week rubbing shoulders with politicians at the Conservative conference, trying to open the door to US style healthcare in the UK. It’s now clear - the only thing coming between an NHS which is there for all of us and US companies running NHS services for profit, is people like you. The lobbyists know their plans might be controversial. But so far, they've gone under the radar. Together, we need to show the government that voters won’t allow the NHS to be put up for negotiation in future trade deals. A huge public petition would show the government exactly what voters think of these plans. If hundreds of thousands of us ram the message home - together we can protect our NHS and stop the lobbyists' plan in its tracks. Will you sign the petition now - and tell the government that our NHS shouldn’t be up for negotiation? Our NHS was founded to heal us when we’re sick, not for private companies to make a profit. Please introduce concrete safeguards that will make sure our NHS is kept out of any future trade deals after Brexit. Words aren't enough - we want watertight protections that will keep our NHS off the negotiating table. tinyurl.com/y9mtlqfy

It's the thing that I find most depressing about the continued glorification of the war. Despite all the bullshit about how 'we' won the war and all the b*ll*cks about how this country is at its best in adversity, the most enduring legacy of WWll is the NHS. The prospect of it being destroyed by a bunch of self - serving right wing politicians, all of whom are wealthy enough to know they'll never need it (although most, if not all the medical staff employed by private hospitals will have been trained by the NHS) is too depressing for words.

it's pretty despicable. it's also pretty despicable that most of the surrounding passengers (bar the guy sitting behind) just stared straight ahead like nothing was happening. not very keen on the wording from the petition originator "whilst white people demand no black person sits next to them", like it was a crowd denying the lady.
also shows that if you pay peanuts for your flight, don't expect the staff to be trained to a suitable standard. this wasn't a case of the member of staff turning up to hear an allegation and having to make a judgement on it, this was somebody unrepentantly setting out their prejudice right in front of them. pathetic from the member of staff and pathetic of the decision making structure on the plane.

Kit Kat. Colgate toothpaste. Johnson’s Baby Lotion. Dove. Doritos. Kellogg’s Pop Tarts. Ritz crackers. M&M’s. Head & Shoulders.Almost ten years ago the makers of these products promised to stop buying palm oil from rainforest destroyers. But we discovered these companies aren’t keeping that promise. These companies buy their palm oil from Wilmar - the dirtiest palm oil giant in the world - fuelling destruction, forest fires and human rights abuses across Indonesia. Palm oil does not have to come from rainforest destruction. But Wilmar won’t change until big companies stop buying its dirty palm oil. Tell big companies to drop Wilmar before it’s too late for Indonesia’s rainforests. tinyurl.com/y8kn4e5h

Signed gazz, these people are destroying the Indonesian rainforests and with it the habitats of many orangutans. This 'like' system is flawed! :/ In this instance, mine is in response to you signing the petition, Duds - cheers, mate.
