Maccy: Is there any discussion of running a live video stream for the playoffs, similar to the trial again Barnsford / Barnsden / Barnton? Can't imagine anyone without a season ticket would get to an away fixture, and would save me a flight for a home tie.

Not sure, matey - although I imagine that the club would certainly wish to try and do something if we were to find ourselves through to the second round, with both Brackley and Harrogate both having relatively limited capacities. Shall see what I can find out, and let you know...

Guys, I was wondering your opinion on the following: Assuming we finish fifth (which looks very likely) would you prefer a home tie against Chorley or Spennymoor? (These being our most likely opponents).

Spennymoor - no contest.
Potentially easier to break down than the notoriously-miserly 'Magpies'... and, hopefully, worn out after playing catch-up with the fixture backlog!

That's an interesting question, I agree with Maccy however I have to admit to being distinctly underwhelmed by Chorley the other night. I think we're more than capable of turning either of them over at EP, particularly if we get a decent, vocal crowd

I'm torn really. Spenny seems an potentially easier task, for the reasons Maccy included above. However, Chorley would bring more fans and there's a little bit of needle between the clubs, which might make for a better atmosphere.

Plus Matt Jansen appears to be, by all accounts, a bell-end of epic proportions.
So to speak.

Very interesting as Spenny have the better away record (9 wins) whereas Chorley have 7.

Imagine being known as the non-league Paul Lambert. How embarrassing.

Imagine being known as the Paul Lambert of anywhere.

We should certainly be a lot fresher and more prepared than both. Chorley played last night, go to Brackley tomorrow and face Alfreton at home on Saturday. They've had 2 red cards of late and I think both players would miss the playoff game... assuming the bans aren't wiped for playoffs. Spennymoor have 3 home ties before the playoffs (Telford tonight, Ferriby Thursday and Southport on Saturday). Games so close could also bring about injuries - not wishing that, of course!
Spennymoor and Chorley are very different types of opponent in terms of style and systems (but also summed up by their GF/GA columns). Given the winner of the Wednesday game will likely travel to Harrogate, Spennymoor's style would perhaps act as 'prep' for the next game, I would suggest. Throw in the travel distance to EP too, and I'll say them. Either way, rearranging that Tamworth game for the Tuesday rather than dropping it into midweek on the final week has really helped.

I believe we can beat absolutely anyone from this league and maybe even the league above at home, it's our trip to (likely) Harrogate, they absolutely dismantled us at their place earlier in the season and I seem to remember we were very lucky to come away from the home tie with a point as well.
Though, what I think will give us an advantage, is that we must be one of the form sides in the league and with the right additions here and there we've become much, much stronger!
It'll be interesting to see, with 5th all but guaranteed, what sort of team we play against Darlington on Saturday. At the end of our 2007/08 league campaign I remember our Reserves beat Brentford 1-0!

So, barring a strange set of high scoring games, we'll be facing Chorley as they won away at Brackley tonight.
