Whilst I agree with the general sentiment about the Tory Party being firm believers in socialism only when it comes to bailing out their mates in business, if this crisis proves to be only a fraction as bad as it could be then potentially many hundreds of thousands of us are likely to lose our jobs in the resultant fallout. It seems that non-essential shopping, a multitude of leisure activities, etc is slowing right down and that will not need to continue for long before the effects are felt throughout the economy. The Government strategy is now being seen as deeply flawed by many experts in the field if epidemiology one who even thought it satire when he first read about it because it is in direct contrast to that seen elsewhere in the world where alternatives have been successfully put into operation. If I may paraphrase Churchill, the Tories can always be trusted to do the right thing, but only after they have exhausted all other possibilities.

Supermarket hoarders, what the f*** is wrong with you?
It knocks me physically sick to the pit of my stomach to see my fellow Brit queuing at six in the f***ing morning to get their shopping before everyone else.
You're not just buying enough to feed yourselves, you're buying enough to feed the rest of your f***ing street, greedy bastards.

Well, we tried to do our regular weekly shop.
14 products couldn't be delivered, including milk, cereal, rice and eggs.
In the morning we chatted to a parent dropping her daughter off and mentioned, jokingly, no rice anywhere!
Mid-afternoon, her husband calls me asking how much we need as he's going between Asian shops to find us some good rice.
He turns up to collect his daughter, bag of rice in hand.
Then we get the PM on TV within 30 minutes making a speech which impacts us all, centred around the term 'keyworkers' but, even for all the apparent weeks of preperation, forgets to define the term, rendering it all useless.
I get pretty PDFs explaining I should share a clever storyboard with early years children to teach them about COVID-19. It is clearly by someone who does not work with children.
I'm encouraged to get children to sneeze into tissues and cough into their arms. I assume this advice comes from someone who has googled "What is a 2-year-old?" only minutes before writing to me.

I needed some bread and just back from the co-op up the road where I could stand and look at acres of empty shelves where the bread should be. Fortunately I was able to buy one of the last packets of yeast so I'm going to get a recipe off tinternet and make my own and f*** 'em.
Curious though isn't it? A week ago the plastic Winston was indulging in a spot of political point scoring by suggesting that the Scots emergency services couldn't cope like their English counterparts the implication being of course that it was the fault of the devolved parliament dominated by the SNP and here we are 7 days or so later and unable to hear ourselves think over the sound of screeching u-turns by the self same f**kwit in chief and his nasty party.

And interestingly here under lockdown, people are being pretty considerate. There was an initial rush from everyone (not me!) to buy anti bacterial hand wash but now if I go to the shops (only chain food stores are open) I can get what ever I need and they have even reduced the price of some of the staple products. They limit how many can enter the shop and staff wear gloves and stay behind a protective screen at the counter.
Stay calm and be considerate is an easy message but unfortunately too many brits don’t care enough about society, only themselves. Every night we all stand on out balconies at 8 o’clock and applaud the health care workers. It is a moving sight and sound, the city is almost silent because there are no bars or restaurants open hardly any cars are on the streets and then from all over the city you can hear clapping.
Stay safe everyone and look out for each other! I communicate with an elderly lady on the floor below by posting notes under each other’s doors. I’ve taken her rubbish out so she doesn’t need to leave the safety of her flat and got her some groceries. Hasta luego amigos!

Considerate Brits are in a minority here, Duds, even less since you moved abroad! Hats off to you and your community, mate, you really are an example to us all. Stay safe and well, Leopold!

Why the f*** are shops still not limiting the sale of goods on a one per person basis?
The supermarkets near here are virtually bare already. I had my brother's sister-in-law rambling on last night about how good a job 'Boris' is doing, I was genuinely lost for words.
What the f*** is wrong with people? The man has done the sum total of diddly f***ing squat. The first thing he should have done when these queues started emerging at supermarkets is order shops to limit their sales and stop greedy b*st*rd hoarders from buying everything.
What really boils me p**s is that the work shy bums up and down this country are now suddenly managing to break free from their sticky mattresses, getting up at the crack of dawn and clearing the shops of the essentials we all need.
Meanwhile, the likes of me are still asleep trying to grab the last few minutes of sleep before getting up to go and do a 12-hour shift, in a job I f***ing hate, and for what?
Those lazy, selfish, greedy tw##s are going to be better off during this crisis than those who actually get up and go to f***ing work, how is that fair?
If you're one of those people and you're reading this, then f*** off, you make me sick.

I had my brother's sister-in-law rambling on last night about how good a job 'Boris' is doing, I was genuinely lost for words. Having effectively produced 3 budgets in the space of a week it's difficult to argue against the fact that they more or less got there in the end. Whether they got there in time to prevent its large-scale spread will be discovered in the next month or so.
She'd do well to wait before passing comment on how well her hero is performing. The Government is unquestionably throwing large amounts of cash about at present but that will have to be paid for. We've seen how the Tories paid for the last crisis. They but the burden onto local councils and the social services. Some councils have seen their budgets cut by nearly 80% during the last 10 years. Many of those councils are in the poorest parts of the country. We've seen the Government's response to the whingeing of Tory controlled shire counties as described below
www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2016/02/09/tory-councils-south-north-funding-nothing-labour_n_9195108.html
Clearly the electorate of Redcar didn't see that before voting for the party that has gutted their local council finances and by definition, the services it provides. When you add the following to the situation
www.theguardian.com/business/2020/mar/02/coronavirus-escalation-could-cut-global-economic-growth-in-half-oecd
No-body knows because we're in uncharted territory but when you add the likely shock of Brexit, compounded by the fact that Johnson is currently refusing to countenance any delay in leaving which increases the likelihood of crashing out with no deal as negotiations are temporarily on hold (Barnier has himself has been diagnosed with Coronavirus). If you think about it, how could he delay? What would his justification be? We can't leave yet because doing so would make a sh*t situation worse. really?
I guess all that's left is keep those you care about close and hang onto your hats folks because this could get tasty.

My brothers have said the best gift to give my mother this Sunday is a video call. Social distancing is the best and hardest gift to give this year. Stay away and there will be opportunities for many shared meals in the future. Stay safe all
