Nuneaton's manager has just left to join Darlo.

Bit of a weird one. Although he has a link to Darlo, having played for them, only a few days ago it appeared he had turned down the move. I wonder if the team will rearrange itself or go with what he had planned for the game?! Edit: he informed the club at 6.30pm tonight while chairman on holiday! www.nuneatontownfc.com/news/club-statement-tommy-wright-2044009.html

Good win today. 3-1 with goals from Oswell, Stopforth and Ball. Nuns goal coming from the penalty spot after O'Halloran handled the ball.

We've given away an unusually high number of penalties this season (5 already - 2 handballs and 3 tackles). Hopefully we're just getting them out of system early in the season, heh!
Pleased Stopforth got a goal and the way it found the net is fitting - the harder you try, the luckier you get. And a good time to add the second before HT too.
It's one of those games that you think, as was said on commentary, that it's not a 'must win' but viewing the table tonight highlights its importance. Certainly a loss would have left us in 16th whereas we're in a decent position which we can hopefully build on, especially with 3 out of the 4 next games being at home.

A good solid performance all round from the team today. They grew into the game, - the first 20 minutes was fairly non-descript and insipid but after that we controlled the 1st half. We all thought that Ormson had carried the ball over his own goal line (just like Benfica's keeper on Wednesday) but an alert linesman said no. Oswell's swivel to score was superb and Stopforth's bum got in the way of a clearance for the second, how we laughed when it looped up and headed for the back of the net.. Second half we continued the good work and the nice deflection from Ball's free kick gave the keeper no chance. Fairly soft penalty from my view, Ormson making the save, just to palm it back to the Nuneaton player and thus straight into the net. Thought we tired in the last 10 minutes, but also Nuneaton were geed up by the goal. We still countered well during this time and could easily have scored more. Geohagan's sending off at the end was literally 25 seconds before the end was correct. All in all it will be a good trip up the M6 for the majority of the 150-170 County fans in a crowd of 737. Me I'm home now and off down the pub soon to celebrate.
