This season is shaping up like all the others we've had in this division. A squad of average part time players will result in an average season in a part time league. Until the board put the money in to go full time nothing will change.
It's great that we turned a profit last season but the result is we've found our level which is part time regional football. I think the board need to be honest with the fans and say that with the funds available that's what we should expect.
It grind my gears that Harrogate Town who average around 700 fans per game are full time and currently walking this league!!

Yesterday's 'From The Boardroom' piece in the programme was written by Steve Bellis. One paragraph was about the current sustainable nature of the club (reduced debts etc) and how the profit last season had been added to this season's playing budget. Another said that our balance sheet was one "most clubs would be delighted with" and that we're "an attractive proposition for potential investors" - as always, this section was qualified by the need for new investors to be good custodians of the club.
On radio, the comment I remember JK making was "Would you rather have the best semi-pros or the worst pros?" when talking about the PT/FT thing.
It's not clear to me if, or at what point, the 'hybrid' model of PT/FT mentioned a fair bit by JG is coming into effect... nevermind the full return to full-time status. We're only hearing that some players are now training more with the academy set-up.
