Unlikely but not beyond our reach if we can keep this form up for the season

ty ty am here all week or until the bailiffs find me lol anyone else think mp mark hunter is out of touch? moaning about 5p rise on a cup of tea in parliament when somerset is in a mess needing millions to fix it? typical liberal "tea and biscuits party" moaning about the price of the tea lol Be fair, stu, the Lib-Dems have to keep their fingers on the pulse regarding tea prices, especially with Nick Clegg having such an important role in the government...

With all this wonderful positivity going round the fans with a will we/won't we reach the play offs - I just thought what was the form chart looking like over the last 10 games? So here it is: Out of a maximum of 30 points to be gained in the last 10.
26 points Barrow 23 points Colwyn Bay and STOCKPORT COUNTY 20 points North Ferriby 19 points Telford and Worcester City 17 points Boston, Harrogate and Guiseley 15 points Brackley 14 points Hednesford 13 points Altrincham 11 points Vauxhall M, Gainsborough and Oxford C 10 points Bradford Park Avenue, Leamington and Gloucester 7 points Solihull Moors 6 points Histon 3 points Workington and Stalybridge
Change to the last 5 games (max 15 points) there are a few changes - to the top half of the table
13 points Barrow and STOCKPORT COUNTY 12 points Worcester 11 points Harrogate 10 points Hednesdford, Brackley, and Boston 8 points North Ferriby and Colwyn Bay 7 points Bradford PA 6 points Telford, Guiseley, Vauxhall 5 points Altrincham 4 points Gainsborough, Oxford C and Gloucester 2 points Leamington and Stalybridge 1 point Workington, Histon and Solihull
So those who are not doing so well in the last 5 include Telford and Solihull who are up shortly, but most of the title contenders who we still have to play are doing OK. However keep playing the way we are, we should be there or thereabouts, so lets bring on Telford and I dare say a huge away following at the New Bucks Head

Isn't it a nice feeling talking about possibly making the playoffs and not relegation for a change. I don't think we will make them, a top 10 spot will be a good finish to the season after the start we made and then hopefully we can push on next season.

i think we will make the play offs if. dennis and jevens keep on firing as the are. The defence has to stay strong. If we don't make the play offs this year we will go straight up next year.

If we do miss out this time around, keeping the majority of the first XI at least has to be a top priority if we are to mount a serious assault on leaving this division next season, along with the man who has fashioned them into a team, Lordy.

Absolutely Spot on mate, I think we need to focus on staying in the top 10 and make that our ambition, next season should be our real assault on the table, hopefully like under Gannon in 2007, the players can see what we're building and not just panic that we didn't go up at the first attempt!

I am so glad I started this thread. So many great comments have been put forward. Also, Like me, the positive thoughts are finally coming to the fore. and to be honest, it makes a change after so many years of sheer awfulness. Personally, I don't think we will make the playoffs, however such are the performance and results that are happening, who knows? As long as we keep this up and keep a solid core in the squad for next season, then fingers crossed we can finally put what has happened over the last few years behind us, and look at a brighter future... Here's hoping.

Sorry, to urinate on the parade, but recent good results don't really change that fact that we still have a poisonous CEO who is destroying the club. We have rumours of investors, but still no hard cash. McKn*ght will continue his 'cost cutting' and screwing us over.
Comments from binbag show he is still a conniving 'so-and-so' who can't be trusted as far as 2000 fans could throw him. In fact the best thing he has done for a long time is to keep quiet - perhaps too quiet. I wouldn't be surprised if he saw this week as a 'good time to bury bad news'
Al is doing amazing job, but it is inspite of what is going on off the field, not because. An excellent run is fantastic, and long may it continue, but nothing has changed at the top and our concerns, vividly expressed over the last few months, are still there.
Having said all that, it is nice to be distracted from all that cr*p and focus on football for a change!

I believe our early season form has left too much to do in relation to a play-off spot, not that Lord or any of the squad would ever give up until it is mathematically impossible.
But IF* we made the play-offs, got promoted, went full time next season and started pushing for promotion again, would that go some way to show that pushing envelopes in a football specific way would equal an elephant out of the hat allowing us to wash our own face in a blue sky thinking way is how to run a football club?
*MASSIVE "IF".

As you say, a massive IF. The proof of the pudding is eating a gift horse.
What we need to do now is grab the nettle by the horns and get into the play-offs. That, for Al, would be a big feather under his belt. We do have a few games in hand, but a nail in the coffin is worth two in the bush.
Either way the seat of my pants will be on the edge of my seat until the last game of the season.

@ Downy: No. Because he took us far too low far too quickly for any recovery to be a part of his vision, so any credit should go to the likes of Park and Brammall and HtH for keeping the club going in spite of his arrogance and stupidity. How do you know we're still not in deep trouble financially? According to some we ARE still in deep sh*t, and the longer this takeover saga drags on the closer to the wall we will go.
This mini turnaround has sod all to do with McKnight, or his vision, it's to do with hard working 'County' people continuing to do their best for the club while his measures have been threatening to destroy it.
McKnight is a self-promoting fool, and had we not had Alan in the hot seat, CB & RP in there putting their own money in and HtH helping with players' wages, the chances are we'd already be dead.
McKnight, from me anyway, is getting the credit for diddly f**king squat.
