Well, well, well! Three home wins on the bounce; an early bath for a former Hatter who we love to hate; and the predicted storm to end all storms stayed away from SK3, too. Life sure is sweet .
Here, then, is our piece from today's programme - which also, incidentally, features, on page 39, a rather fetching pic of us, and Macc Junior, with Lordy at the sponsors' event held after the Histon game. Oh - and we have each included in our text a word suggested by a fellow Heavener. I can safely say that you won't take very long to spot the pair of them... but at least we have risen to the challenge!
Happy reading!

Afternoon, everyone - and welcome to those Stalybridge fans who have made the long trek to EP!
Since our last article was received by the Masses (Mr and Mrs Mass of Offerton), County Heaven has welcomed its 50th new member – although it happened to be Sagesmith who was a regular on the old site! Nevertheless, congratulations to ‘Sagey’ for the accolade (although he doesn’t win anything, and should have signed up sooner anyway) and commiserations to our 51st new member, ‘Oakwoodbank’, who missed out by a matter of days!
In other news, Downy has (somewhat suspiciously) won his own prediction league for the second month running, although calls for his immediate hanging, drawing and quarterisation are perhaps a little harsh in light of the injury he already has to his leg! Congratulations also go to the various winners of the recent limerick competitions – you know who you are (sadly, I don’t, as I haven’t kept track…).
Lastly, you may or may not be aware that County Heaven are sponsors of Alan Lord this season (we do mention it in every article!), and myself and Maccy were honoured to represent the forum at the recent sponsors’ event where we met the man himself together with the players. We presented his Lordship with a copy of our book - “C.H.A.O.S.” – before he kindly signed Sandy Jnr’s birthday card. I’d also like to thank all the players for signing too, and particularly our goalkeeping coach, Jordan Felgate, for rounding everyone up and making sure they had done so!
Now then, I hope you’re managing to stay dry at all these away games you’ve been reporting from – do you have a waterproof coat, Macc?

Sure have, buddy. I bought it with next month’s trip down to rainy Gloucester in mind. It’s a Sou’wester. Arf.
Back to this afternoon first, though, and a ‘local derby’ which follows hot on the heels of two EP performances yielding six points - thanks to victories against Histon (a narrow one) and Vauxhall Motors (an emphatic one) that turned out to be contrasting and welcome in equally high measure!
Sandwiched inbetween was a midweek trip to Boston, and what felt like a hugely creditable sharing of the spoils on the night there was made to look even more impressive by The Pilgrims’ hitting of Gainsborough for six at York Street four days later! County should at the same time have been following up against Worcester, but the postponement of that fixture will now, of course, entail another Tuesday night on the road. It was doubly frustrating not to be able to visit Aggborough again a week ago, given that a good few of us had been longing to exorcise, as soon as possible, the demons from that miserably dark afternoon of 20th April last.
Finally, it’s ‘hi and goodbye’ time, as, firstly, County Heaven extends very best wishes to Rhys Turner following his Deadline-day transfer to Oldham. In less time, however, than it takes the average Heavener to say ‘antidisestablishmentarianism’, we had Rhys-on to welcome a namesake-replacement from Barnsley! Accompanying the arrival at EP late last week of Rhys Oates (for it is he) was fellow young Tyke, Christian Dibble, who is following in his father’s footsteps as a member of the Goalkeepers’ Union. And, speaking of Christian’s old fella, he could be ‘Andy in his day…
Enjoy the game.
