Welcome to Edgeley Park for our third Tuesday night home game in a row. As everyone knows, the middle instalment of any trilogy is always the weakest (Aliens being the exception, but that’s not a trilogy anymore) - and so, hopefully, last week’s defeat to Tamworth will be our Back To The Future II, and we can come back with a thrilling conclusion against tonight’s opponents (who, like Back To The Future III, are from the wild west!)
New members are still joining County Heaven regularly, and they have been treated to a smorgasbord of mouth-watering topics to get involved in.
The recent ITV series, Great Night Out (which if you didn’t know is based around the misfortunes of a group of County fans), has been considered and mostly praised, and, putting local rivalries aside, the recent Cup exploits of our near-neighbours, Macc Town and Oldham, have been applauded in our ‘General Football Chat’ section.
In the more obscure ‘Off Topic’ area, of course no football forum would be complete without consideration of the recent horsemeat scandal, the best TV shows (and, following on from that, more specifically, sitcoms) have been discussed, and it was only a matter of time before the age-old debate of “Oxo or Bovril?” came to the fore. Sadly, however, it rapidly deteriorated into Brown sauce v Ketchup, quickly followed by Tea v Coffee - so I’m not entirely sure what we decided was the winner. You best join in and work it out for yourselves!
Over to you, Maccy...

Cheers, Sandy - and, yes, Tuesday night certainly is ‘County Night’ right now, eh?
On this occasion we welcome Hereford - no strangers to these parts in years gone by, of course, but who sadly dropped out of the Football League at the end of last term. The Bulls have adapted solidly enough to life in the BSP, so far as results are concerned, and currently sit around mid-table - just above County. A closely-fought encounter therefore looks on the cards this evening.
Since our last notes, and ahead of last week’s frustratingly disappointing defeat to Tamworth under the EP lights, County did pick up a valuable point at Ebbsfleet. This was especially hard-earned, given that some two thirds of the game in deepest Kent had to be played with ten men.
The ‘in door’ at SK3 continues to be open for new player arrivals. Tonight’s ‘hello’ is for Simon Hackney, whose signing was cunningly, cryptically and, as it turns out, correctly pre-announced by an fortuitously in-the-know Heavener, describing the Club’s then-target on our ‘Rumour Mill’ along the lines of “simple cab”! All a bit taxi-ng on some of our brains, but there you go...
Enjoy the game. I am appalled to find myself double-booked, on a course at the other end of the country, this evening, but shall naturally be willing a County victory from afar - and will be back in good time for the visit of Luton!
Animo et Fide.
