Any post-match odes to joy out there? Will give this until midnight, and don the judging robes in the morning (after breakfast, so as not to get Weetabix on them, obviously...)!

Morning, all - and many thanks for such a rich collection of rhyming lines.
An especially difficult contest to judge this time around, not only because of the high quality but also due to the need to keep a dictionary open while I read through the entries!
As ever, there can only be three medal-winners. And the Macc Jury proclaims that these are:
In third place, Eppers, for summarising our 'good-in-parts' record for the season with his observation that The number of draws is our egg belonging to the curate. Let us hope that, come Saturday evening, we can happily dismiss that as a yolk, and not rue it as the reason County eventually cracked...
Taking the Silver, Lennie, with one of the several three-syllable line-endings that, following Saturday's results, became all the more apt: The permutations are like a biquadrate! Too right, Sir! And I am just keeping fingers crossed that Twitter introduces a spreadsheet-app before we have to tweet about said permutations live this weekend...
But, after rewarding references to 19th-century satire and advanced maths, it's back to basics for our winner...
Hermann, and his hunch that a County win ... helps to increase SK3's birthrate. Scientifically unproven - at least for now - but watch this space in nine months' time!
Cheers, as ever, to everyone for taking part. And, with that, back we go - hopefully not for the last time this season! - to Sir Len in the studio...

Cheers Macca
Great winning line from Hermann and thanks for the silver. Good podium for Eppers as well.
That was one of the easiest to find a rhyme limericks for a while but difficult to make comtemporary and relevent (and amusing. Thanks all for having a go.
Interesting times - we have 1 player on 7 wins and 3 players on 8 wins for the season. so I can see this going to a play-off as well. I won't say who is in with a shout so that Judge Hermann cannot be swayed. Of course if County get to the play-offs we will have a natural extension to the season in overtime.
new one coming soon.
New one coming soon
