Welcome to EP for what promises to be a chilly encounter with the Imps.
As you would imagine, with the recent change in management at County and the back-to-back victories which followed, County Heaven has been very busy over the past few weeks. We’ve passed the 350 members mark which makes for some very lively debate at times!
We also recently celebrated our second birthday, and what better way to commemorate this than the unveiling of our very own brick on the ‘County Wall’ by the Club Shop. Sadly, the big reveal was missed by those Heaveners who planned to be there, primarily down to spending 30 seconds too long in the pub!
At County Heaven, we’re constantly looking at ways that we can help the Club, either financially or otherwise, and so, if you have an idea, why not sign up and let us know?
One of the ways we contribute is by sponsoring a player each season. Until recently, we sponsored Danny O’Donnell (having first done so for 2011/12) but since his recent departure from SK3 we have re-grouped, voted, and I am pleased to announce that for the remainder of the season County Heaven will be the proud sponsors of Matty Mainwaring!
In other news: Calliope was announced as the winner of my latest quiz (someone who may be familiar to those of you who remember classic County fanzine, The Tea Party); Bradninch was victorious for January in Downy’s Prediction League; and Sir Roger, Fudgie and my co-writer Maccy have all penned winning limericks in Lennie’s Lounge.
Speak of the devil...

Thank you kindly, Sandy.
And good evening to our visitors from Lincoln, a club with which County has had a fair bit in common of late. Having accompanied each other in dropping out of the League nigh on two years ago, both are finding that life in the BSP is not without its challenges - and will be keen to tot up enough points for safety this term at the earliest possible stage. We shared a six-goal draw at Sincil Bank back in October, and, with just two points separating us at present, another hard-fought encounter is surely in prospect this evening.
That said, County are showing some very respectable current form at EP: having taken maximum points off Forest Green and Nuneaton, a win tonight would be our third successive home victory. It could also, for all I might know at the time of writing (a day before visiting Wrexham), see us record a fourth League win in a row...although printing deadlines leave that entirely to my imagination!
Finally, there’s just time to reference some recent comings and goings so far as the squad is concerned, and for County Heaven to say the odd “hi” and “goodbye”. We welcome Richard O’Donnell, Jon Macken, and Mark Cullen - all of whom have impressed on initial appearances - and bid farewell to Cameron Darkwah, to Euan Holden (signed, just last week, by Bury), to the other O’Donnell (to be fondly remembered forever in the CH Hall of Fame as our inaugural sponsored player, now with Barrow), to Danny Rowe (also at Barrow, with...erm, Danny Rowe!) and to Paul Turnbull (on loan from Northampton - to today’s opponents, no less). The five departees were popular at various times with Heaveners, and we wish them every success - other than for ‘Pitbull’ this evening, naturally!
Enjoy the game.
