Stockport County Supporters’ Co-op to open own pub!
The Stockport County Supporters’ Co-operative have launched a competition to name the pub, which they are set to open at the Stockport Beer & Cider Festival, being held at Edgeley Park Thursday 1st - Saturday 3rd June 2017.
County Supporters are invited to name the pub, which will be open for one night only, on Thursday 1st June 2017, inside the Beer Festival.
Furthermore, the plan is to take County fans back in time to Thursday 1st June 1967, by recreating a typical pub from that era. The music, the fashion, the hair cuts, and most importantly, the football, celebrating the 50th anniversary of County’s magnificent championship winning season.
Tickets will be on sale next month and there will be many special guests at the event, to help mark the occasion.
The only thing that will be different, is that thanks to CAMRA, there will be over 200 cask beers and real ciders available at the Festival, compared with the few bland keg offerings of 1967.
Those wishing to enter the competition should simply email their suggested pub name to email@example.com
The winner will be announced on Sunday 19th March and will be invited to formally open the pub at the Beer Festival on Thursday 1st June, and to enjoy an evening as an honoured guest of the Stockport County Supporters’ Co-operative.

Just back from the SCAN certificates presentation at a packed Bungalow - which was a very well-organised event, with not only Jim and the current players, but also a good few ex-Hatters from many years gone by, present.
Well done, the Co-op. I felt proud to be a part of it.
(Hedgie: any chance of e-mailing me a copy of your photo of my moment of glory, presenting Sam M, please?!)
