This is what the Co-op is really good at, getting kids hooked to County before the two Manc teams grab them.
Keep it up and expand the fan base.

New Faces- Fresh Ideas ! The whiff of fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm was in the air last night at the Spinning Top where the Supporters Cooperative AGM elected 3 new faces to the board along with established stalwarts Peter Towey and Damian Beaumont . The election of long time County supporters Katye Ebbage and, Emma Mannion not only lowered the average age of the Coop Board significantly, but also promised a renewed emphasis on the younger end of our fan base.
Both Katye and Emma will be valuable additions to our board , as will Mike Swann the other new face. Mike is well known to County fans as the landlord of the Spinning Top from where he has supported County and the Cooperative enthusiastically since moving into the town.
We congratulate all the above on their election, and confirm that the various terms that each will serve are as follows:-
Damian Beaumont 3 years Emma Mannion 3 years Mike Swann 3 years Katye Ebbage 2 years Peter Towey 1 year.

Join Us. Recent weeks have seen the Supporters Cooperative focus a large part of their activity around attracting new members to the organisation, during which time excellent initiatives such as `Get Your Photo Taken with the Trophy` event, have attracted a 10% increase in members ,as well as giving a group of fans something of value to point proudly to in future years. A further photo session is planned. An essential part of our thinking going forward on membership centres around the need to attract younger County supporters into our ranks, and we announced some weeks ago, the launch of our 16-25 membership category with an attractive £3 per year subscription, along with our intention to consider creating a place on the Cooperative board for that 16-25 year old category. We are serious on this matter and we think that younger County fans , as well as being a great asset on matchdays with their loud support, are serious about County too, and we know that they will have issues to sort which we can help them resolve, and if ultimately we create that dedicated position on the board, they will be in a position to raise their concerns not only to the Cooperative board but to the Club. Notwithstanding the above, we have moved also to initiate an ` Away Ticket Priority Scheme` , a members benefit negotiated with the Club to allow for members to have priority access to away tickets after season ticket holders. Members must 'opt in' to enable the Co-operative to share their membership data with County by selecting preferences via their account at webcollect.org.uk/coop New Members: Tick the Stockport County box on the sign-up screen. We are determined that the voice of County fans is heard, join us and help make it louder! webcollect.org.uk/coop Make Us An Offer- Update. Our current effort involves a match worn shirt from season 98-99 worn and signed by James Gannon, and the top offer thus far stands at £150 . The shirt is sized XL, in very good condition, and has an unusual V in the centre of the collar, presumed to be following a small tear, caused at some point when James was playing ( probably as he swung late to the back post to head the ball home). There is no appearance of tear or rip in evidence following a very serviceable repair effected at some point, by someone- a third photo of the V area is included here to verify our comments. Closing date remains noon on Wednesday 27 November, and offers should be sent to hedgegrower@gmail.com Proceeds shared equally between the Cooperative`s Guardian Account and SCAN. Upcoming………….. Supporters Cooperative board members will be contactable in the cabin before all future games ( Saturday and Tuesday evening before every game Saturday- 1.30 -2.30/ Tuesday- 6.20 – 7.20) We have our usual rack of interesting County shirts ( at £10), and also half a dozen very serviceable XL top coats at £15, and some track suit tops and bottoms at a tenner. We will also be handing out the remainder of the Football Calendars at no charge, so give us a visit. Remember all the proceeds from every item we sell goes to the Guardian Account . And…..we will also be making an appeal in support of the Wellspring, as usual this will be focussed on the Cabin where you can support Stockport`s magnificent homeless charity by dropping off your donated items , on Sunday 22 December immediately before and during the Xmas Carol Concert at EP. Donated items can be left also ,at the above times, on match days. The Wellspring are looking for donations of food, warm clothing and cash would be immensely useful also. What`s On at the Spinning Top ? Our appeal in support of Stockport`s fantastic homeless charity The Wellspring is well underway and members and County fans generally have started to drop off donations of warm clothing ,sleeping bags, rucksacks, flasks, coats, etc to the cabin on match days. The Wellspring are also running their Christmas Dinner appeal and are looking for £5 donations, so they can provide people in need with a full Christmas dinner and a gift, so the cabin is the place to drop donated items off. We open twixt 1.15 and 2.35 for Saturday games and until 7.20 for mid-week matches. Also …the Club have allowed the Wellspring to hold a bucket collection inside the ground on the day of the FA Trophy game ( 14 th December). Obviously your support with donations on that day would be great, but the Wellspring need volunteers to help on the day. To volunteer for this please contact Jonathan Billings who is contactable via thewellspring@btconnect.com Make Us An Offer Our congratulations go to member Andy Main whose offer of £200 secured him the 98-99 shirt signed and match worn by County Legend James Gannon. We thank Andy, and all who participated in support of this effort, the proceeds from which will be shared equally twixt SCAN and the Cooperative`s Guardian Account. Stockport County Christmas Carol Concert. This immensely popular Yuletide event is again being staged at Edgeley Park on Sunday 22 December at 3pm. Supporters Cooperative Update. New Board Decides Positions. This week the first meeting of the Supporters Cooperative Board since our recent AGM, saw them decide on officers for the coming year. The result was as follows:- Chair: Peter Towey /Vice Chair : John Giles Treasurer : Andrew Burt Membership Officer : Damian Beaumont/ Vice Membership Officer: Edward Keane Comms & Media Officer : Ian Brown/ Vice Comms & Media Officer: Mike Swann Fundraising Officer : Katye Ebbage /Vice Fundraising Officer : Emma Mannion. Steve Murray and Paul Thompson were again co-opted for their expertise in Finance and IT. First job. First amongst the new boards priorities was a desire for an early meeting with the Club Board, which is now overdue. It was agreed that urgent contact be made to resolve this situation quickly. Some of Our Plans for the Immediate Future:- 1.Agreement was reached on staging a `Hospitality Day` at either the Dover or Bromley home games , offering favourable discounts to our members. 2.A 2nd photo shoot, with the championship trophy, was agreed for 18 January the day of the Sutton home game- this to be pre not post game! 3.On Community Tickets it was reported that we had facilitated 1000 free tickets for local clubs & organisations, and we were working on distributing 2000 more this season 4. The financial situation was good with the Working Account at £3419 and Guardian Account at a very healthy £ 60778. 5. There was unanimous agreement that we support the Wellspring Appeal and supporters are urged to leave their donated items at the cabin before home games on 7 and 14 December ( Chorley & FA Trophy games). We will keep the appeal ongoing so please drop donations( warm clothing or cash in support of the charity`s Christmas Meal Appeal), off at the cabin before either of the next 2 home games , and also between 2 and 4pm on 22 December the day of the `Christmas Carol Concert` 6.There will be a Wellspring bucket collection on the 14 December the day of the FA Trophy game – we urge fans to give this their usual kind support! In addition Wellspring need around 10 volunteers to help before the game and also at half time. If you can help out with this worthy effort please contact johngiles20@hotmail.com 7. It was agreed that we stage the massively popular Hatters Half Marathon for the sixth time, notional date being Sunday 6 September 2020. In this respect John Giles agreed to be Race Director, and Peter Towey agreed to be Chief Marshall. 8. It was agreed that we again promote and organise the `Christmas Cavort` to be staged at the Spinning Top starting at 6.30 after this Saturday`s game with Chorley. It`s free entry for the event, and there will be a Yuletide Quiz , with teams of 4 costing just £1 per head , and much much more. 9. We agreed to support the `Christmas Carol Concert` to be held on Sunday 22 December in the Insider Suite, with the cabin open for Wellspring donations as mentioned above.
