Mentions for:
Raiders of the Lost Ark. Rear Window. Reservoir Dogs. Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Rollercoaster. Roxanne. The Running Man (1987).
But my vote goes to Rocky.

Looks like my vote won't make a difference either way, but I'll change my vote anyway to 'Rear Window' (1954) - 'Ronin' is a great movie, but any Hitchcock movie is an absolute classic.

I'll go for 'Reds' Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton 1981.

Another three-way tie, between 'Return of the Jedi', 'Rocky' and 'Repo Man'. Tie-break poll to start shortly and run next week until midday next Friday.

I've just seen Rush for the first time tonight on Channel 4 - what a movie!
The racing scenes were phenomenal. Ron Howard really is a genius.

Ron Howard really is a genius. i'd forgotten about 'rush'. only saw it a few months ago too, and you're right, it was great. contained some similar horror to 'senna', but without the flat, sick feeling at the end - both brilliant, complementary commentaries on seventies and eighties motorsport.

Agreed. I do remember Hunt winning the title that year, it was 'that' scorching Summer - but I don't remember anything about it. Aside from the intense battle between Hunt and Lauda, the one thing that stands out from that season for me is what an incredible man Niki Lauda is - astonishing mental strength to even drive again, let alone within weeks of his horrific accident. Proper racing legend. Ron Howard captured that battle so well it really did seem like you were watching genuine racing action. An incredible account of an incredible season.
