Edgeley Park Ghost at EP ? It is fair to say that the level of excitement involved in attending, and being part of, Help the Hatters Working Party's...even on a Monday session....is not that great. Today however the first arrivals in what turned out to be a larger than average Monday turn out, got a severe surprise as they set about their early labors. Being first on the scene Richard and Keith headed for the Pop Side where 180 Macclesfield fans had been housed on Saturday, with a view to clearing an anticipated huge pile of litter. Imagine their surprise to find no litter whatsoever in the sections given over to the away support. They immediately checked with Gaffer John Gaskin and it was clear that no-one had been in to do the biz prior to today, as the ground had been locked! The only conclusion we could come to was that the famous `Edgeley Park Ghost' had been about again, although it usually limits its excursions to the Main Stand area. Scary stuff ayy ?, but I am sceptical myself. Meanwhile today's Team Photo with thanks to all who turned out and cleaned all the 3 stands.....

EPWP 16. A sunny morning , if blustery......and the group set a fairly sedate pace in sorting the litter left in the 3 stands on Saturday. Anne continued the quest for excellence beneath the main stand....rendering refs....medics ...home and away dressing rooms A1 again. Then...as the writer headed off...Ray and Andrew set about the paintwork on the Main Stand walkway. All in all a sound mornings work...back again Thursday if anyone's interested in joining us from 6pm when amongst other things there probably will be some Museum goody bag filling to do.

The Bung, a Gangway, Flags and stuff...... The Bung first...... John Fitzpatrick broke off from EPWP17 to talk about upcoming matters particularly the Bungalow, which over recent years has served as a most useful pre match hub for County supporters. John was quick to make the point that, the Bung is open as usual on match days for the coming season when the Players Fund will attract a 10% donation from Bungalow takings. ` I urge supporters to support Help the Hatters and the Players Fund by drinking in the Bung pre match.' Help the Hatters top man then went on to ask Help the Hatters supporters to help out in the Bung from 1 o'clock if they can on match days or from 6 for Tuesday games - just turn up and do a bit or let John know via fitzy@fitzpatrickscaffolding.com That Gangway......... That was where much of the focus of EPWP17 with bodies piling in to lay some yellow paint down on the walkway ! The two David's, John G and Ray did the biz under the main stand roof whilst Keith finessed the Cheadle End Disabled Area, leaving Ralph to do sundry most useful jobs including making good the damage caused by sundry vandals to the Cabin, with Dazzer concentrating on the Pop Side Car Park Gate. Flags.... On to today then and the moment when Help the Hatters flags were hoisted aloft at the back of a windswept Railway End. First up was the Union Flag, followed next by a blue/white flag representing County colours. The third flag raised was that of Uruguay which looked a picture flanked by the Irish flag which was next up. The flag of St George was fifth in place, with that of the Supporters Cooperative following on . Help the Hatters own flag was the penultimate pole topper on show with the deep green of Cheshire rounding it all off! Totally brilliant work from Help the Hatters again! Finally...... News of upcoming Working Party's .... There will not be a WP next Monday, but there will be one on Thursday. The likely focus will be clean up after Tuesdays game and possibly some filling of the Museum goody bags that are distributed to school children who are given a tour by members of the Stockport County Community Foundation, who so far have given 350 potential young County fans `the tour'. Great work ! Monday WP's will re-commence the following week. Well done all

A Casualty at EPWP 18
Litter was fairly light last night following Tuesday's game, and that gave the Help the Hatters EPWP 18 crew time to add further tasks before the break.
Unfortunately the night included a casualty as Milly Baird , busily cleaning in the lower tiers of the Cheadle End slipped and had to be whisked to A & E. We understand Millie sustained a broken leg so we wish her a very speedy recovery!
Sessions next week are Monday from 10am / Thursday from 6pm.
Meanwhile Help the Hatters will be in the Bung before the game Saturday, with the 105 Players Fund contribution applying, and the Pods will be primed within the ground to receive your donations to the Players Fund that is standing at £2000 at this moment.
