He has, matey - although I guess he must be around, or past, retirement age now. And he has his own business in football to fall back on.
Not supporting the decision (if founded), incidentally. Lordy has been spending many a Saturday in recent seasons, checking out, and preparing detailed notes for Jim on, County's next opponents. Invaluable, and time-consuming, work, which cannot be undertaken by any old scout...

I hope Lordy left on good terms and that he gets an appropriate send off - befitting such a loyal servant. He really did help see us through our darkest days and we should be forever grateful for that.

I guess with evolution comes change. I hope like others have said that Lordy, and any others who have been let go, were well treated. So far the new owners have acted in a good way

Sorry to see Dawson, Lockyear and Lordy go.
I am guessing Lordy would be retiring at some point and has his own business anyway. As Maccy ssid he steadied the sinking ship, and has also brought some fantastic players through over the years.
I hope Simon and Mark get sorted soon. In terms of commercial duty it would have been better to have kept Simon on and brought on a second person to assist and grow the business....
As for the club secretary job that job spec is horrendous.
I am assuming Stott wants his own people in right across the board.

If June 30th is the end date for all contracts, I'd say a review was inevitable. Sorry to see Lordy go but until spectators are back, scouting future opposition will have to be done in a different way. If and when things are back to a new normal, maybe he can do the job on a freelance basis.

As for the club secretary job that job spec is horrendous. ... Not to mention the salary. I'm on the higher end of that range and all I do is operate machinery and drive trucks, I wonder if he's banking on there being plenty of desperate people out there as a result of this pandemic?

Could be right there Gazz. I assume someone will come from another club higher up the pyramid.
Notice the OTE bit. Not sure why that is part of it...

Notice the OTE bit. Not sure why that is part of it... That's probably going to be the difference between the lower end and the higher end, which is a bit sh*tty, to be honest. I'm sure the OTE bit wasn't there before, as I could have sworn it said the salary was between £20k - £30k when I first posted that link.

I hope Simon and Mark get sorted soon. In terms of commercial duty it would have been better to have kept Simon on and brought on a second person to assist and grow the business.... Another snippet I have heard - so not to be treated as 'ITK gospel'! - is that Simon has landed himself another job on the commercial front. I do know that he has put his house up for sale, so this may all stack up in his case. The one thing puzzling me is that there has been no announcement from the Club about these departures - assuming, of course, that the rumours are true - seeing as all three have given such unstinting and dedicated service to County, and often in difficult times. So far, the new regime's PR approach has been absolutely spot on, so I would be extremely surprised if the news went unreported.

Having worked for more than one business that has changed hands over the years there doesn't seem to be anything new here. New Management have new ideas and new ideas can frequently require new ways of looking at and thinking about things. It's not as though the takeover took place on Friday and the chop came the following Monday.
I didn't hear anything in the interview with Mark Stott that indicated the kind of bull-in-a-china-shop claptrap that one might have expected from previous owners and the take over took place in Februaryish so hardly revolutionary change taking place. I imagine Stott has taken his time to look at the way the club has been run, decided it can do better and is setting about making that happen. Thanks to those leaving the club of course, particularly such as Alan Lord who stepped in when needed and very best of luck to them all but I can't say I'm unduly concerned tbh.

Good to see Michael Raynes back and that Lordy still has a role (different) role with the club.

Very pleased that Lordy's invaluable scouting services are being retained.
