As County slip, it's mid-table gloom. There is still "a pachyderm in the room". Will "The Pitmen" dig deep? Will we leap, sleep or weep? Shame the pitch resembles a logflume.

Here we go, Heaveners!... Despite some excellent entries from Downy, archie & the King himself, Lennie - here are this week's podium sitters: My Bronze goes to Eps with: "It's Jim's homecoming, the 12th man should turn up the volume" Silver goes to Maccy with: "Well, we reckoned without a monsoon!" My Golden Quill goes to countyfan with: "It'll soon be Spring when our players start to bloom!" - it's about time we had some optimism, so it's a worthy winner for me! Thanks to all who took part, and thanks to Lennie as always!

Cheers for the Silver, Gaz-man. Most delighted with that - not least when, technically, it didn't quite rhyme! (Had to be said, after yesterday's deluge from the skies, mind...)
Congratulations to Eppers - and, in particular, C_f for a great winning line.
Keep 'em coming, Lennie!

Nicely done all round guys.
Congrats County Fan and major thanks to Gazza. just have to think of another Hendesford rhyme at a later date (blast these postponments !)
Now it's Crewe for Tuesday (weather permitting) - at least some new rhyming possibilties for this one.
Walking Football Stop Press - lost 0-1 to Newcastle, beat Easingwold 2-0, beat Seaton Carew 2-0 lost to Sunderland 0-1. So didn't make the semis. However, due to squad injuries we played our "youth policy keeper" after game 1 and yours truly as impact sub. for the last 3 games. It worked. The Len White magic showed through with me claiming 2 of our 4 goals. A new career beckons !!

Thanks for the bronze, gazza. Always pleasing to get on the podium given the quality on show. Well played macc and, particularly, cf. Cheer, Len. Good effort in the walking football!

I do think you should get it posted on your thread too, though, to save this update getting lost in the Limerick archives - we'd have to bring in a WUM to search for it!

And that will be a tad difficult, once they're all consigned to C.H.I.V.E. at the end of the week, and we've thrown away the key...

Well I wasn't expecting that! Cheers Gazza. I'm well happy to win with the quality of the entries this time around.
Well done to Eppy and Macc for their podium positions and thanks to Lennie as usual.
