Well, what a nice change it makes to post one of these after not having lost!
Happy reading...

Good afternoon, and welcome back to EP for today’s match against Nuneaton Town.
If you read our article in last Saturday’s programme (and you better have), then you will have been anxiously awaiting the results of the County Heaven Awards 2015. I revealed last week that our player of the year was Lewis Montrose, and goal of the year was Glenn Rule’s volley against... erm... today’s opponents (how fortuitous), but now it’s time for the real winners – the Heaveners!
Best achievement - The ‘Hatters Hike to Hyde 2015’, which raised just under £1,500 for local charity, Kidscan. Despite the torrential rain and ultimate postponement of the fixture (don’t get me started), a fun day was had by all.
Best thread - ‘C.H.U.M.S.: County Heaven’s Ultimate Music Soundtrack’ (our A-Z of the best artists and songs in history).
Funniest Heavener - Aw shucks, it’s me (there’s no accounting for taste).
Quizmaster of the Year - Erm, me again *blushes*.
Admin of the Year - Gazza, for his tireless work making County Heaven what it is.
And finally, the most coveted award of them all: Heavener of the Year. The winner, yet again (and quite rightly so), is my good friend, Maccy. County’s brilliant matchday reporter, official club tweeter, one half of the greatest programme writing duo in history, and all-round top bloke, his award is thoroughly deserved (that’s a tenner you owe me, sunshine)...

Ah - so YOU were the mystery sole voter in that category!
While Sandy and I seek, between us, to achieve world domination in Heaven, let us hope that County can begin taking at least tiny steps in a similar direction today.
Last Saturday’s desperately disappointing defeat against Telford was our seventh match in all competitions without a win in SK3. In fact, to add some rather staggering context (bearing in mind these now-very-much-more wintry conditions), the last victory on home turf - against Bradford Park Avenue - was achieved back in the days of British Summer Time!
Hopes that the team might enjoy a midweek opportunity to get back to winning ways were sadly dashed by the heavy rain that caused our Cheshire Senior Cup-tie at Congleton Town to be postponed. Town’s rather grandiosely-named Richborough Estates Stadium sounds more suited for a polo venue... or, perhaps, on this occasion, it would have been water polo!
Instead of playing on Tuesday night, of course, County became Manager-less. The news of Neil Young’s resignation broke just as this article was being submitted for press - so, suffice for me personally to say for now, thanks to Neil for what he endeavoured to do during his short spell at the Club, and best wishes to him for the future.
Finally, back to this afternoon, and hearty greetings to our visitors from Warwickshire. ‘Boro’ supporters in search of some welcome hot food, on what is forecast to be a chilly day, are advised, however, to get to their catering kiosk early before the pies sell out. As long as you do that, you should find that there are... erm, none eaten!
I’ll hand back that award right now...
Get behind the players today, and make the presence of The Twelfth Man count!
