Time for a decision Archie as I believe we have a Cheshire Cup game to squeeze in for Tuesday.
I'm glad you volunteered for this one.

Ok Lennie, here goes.
Very worthy efforts from Ceefer, Gazza, Lennie and Countyfan but this week's jury says: Bronze to Downy for bringing in the word 'gay' without offending anyone. When I was a kid there was a kids' TV series called 'The Gay Cavalier'. Probably be given an X certificate these days. Silver to Maccy for attempting to 'seize the day'. Rhymes, scans and works. That course must be working. Gold for Eppy and his attempted bribe of a case of Chardonnay. I'll PM delivery details.
Well done everyone. A difficult choice this week.

A magnificent 27 entries this week. Thank you all so much for giving me the faith to carry on with the threads.
We may be small in number but the standard is terrific - you never fail to astound me with the width and wit of the entries. It makes it all worthwhile.
Great decision Archie. Thanks for doubling up. Congrats to third and second places and very well done Eppers.
I once taught a young lady called Chardonnay. Her two sisters were called Champagne and Tequila. You couldn't make it up could you. Also taught a young lad called Holsten because his Mum said that was what she had been drinking the night he was conceived. Could have been worse........... a girl called Dizzy Blonde ?

Thanks for the Silver Medal, archie. Really delighted with that, as it has without doubt been one of the highest-quality contests in some time.
Many congrats to eppers, as a worthy winner - and to downy, too.
Cheers, Sir Len. Keep 'em coming!

Boom Chicka Boom! Very happy with that, archie! A fantastic set of lines from Len, leading to quality limericks from all those taking part. Very pleased to get the gold given the quality. Well played all - keep them coming Len.
