Yes - good to catch up again with Maccy, and meet Shropshire (hope your trains worked on the way back)and Collinge. Shame about the game - best thing about the game - was thank goodness they had a roof on the stand we were all in!
We were often off the pace - almost as though because of the rain they didn't fancy playing (just like some schoolboys I can remember)- only for a short period of tiem before HT's first goal did we look as though we were on top and then for about 10 mins after we scored - otherwise definately second best (but was that after Tunji's silly very late tackle or was it because we were 2nd best?. Having said that remember they were 5th and we were 16th in the league before the game.
Well done to all who travelled though on a filthy night - we guessed it was somewhere in the 150 mark - not listed on HT's website and COWS has not got a report up yet!! (Why does that not surprise me?)

Thanks for the summary, mhh, and I don't expect anything less from COWS.
Part-time club, part-time service.

Likewise, a pleasure to meet collinge for the first time, and to catch up again with mhh and shropshire. Collinge's choice of pre-match meeting-place was inspired - although it made me feel that I had picked the wrong month to abstain from alcohol!
Yesterday's weather probably didn't show Hednesford in its best light, but I thought the ground looked very tidy and well set up for an outfit at this, and, potentially, Skrill Premier, level. The staff there were very helpful and welcoming, too.
As for the game, mhh has summed it up well. It wasn't the worst County performance that I have seen this season - not by a long chalk - and, had Moses not been dismissed, I still fancy that we might have given the hosts a closer run for their money. As it was, County's best spells were at either end of the game: up until the first goal went in; and, later, during the last 20-30 minutes, when the team seemed to wake up with a view to making more of a fight of it. Dicko's arrival off the bench seemed to galvanise the front line, and both Dennis and Jevons worked hard towards the end. Other performances of note came from the ever-consistent Jacobs, the increasingly-impressive Churchman, and Ormson - who couldn't be faulted for any of the Hednesford goals, but did make some excellent stops.
The end of a good run for the team, then - but, hopefully, we shall bounce back (weather permitting) at Guiseley. Looking forward also to our next West Midlands trip, especially as that game, against Worcester, falls on 1st February - the very day on which my drinking fast will end. Collinge will, I know, not disappoint us when it comes to selecting a suitable hostelry at which to meet up in Kiddy beforehand!

Thanks for the link, collinge.
It should be a good deal quieter there than on our last, fateful visit to Kiddy!

Collinge will, I know, not disappoint us when it comes to selecting a suitable hostelry at which to meet up in Kiddy beforehand! Think Dicko should have come on earlier. We did look dangerous second half. Still wish we could keep possession more; there were far too many stray balls and off throw ins and headers we just didn't find our own players. Visiting Hednesford really puts into perspective how lucky we are to have a real football ground in EP. shame that our playing surface is t anywhere near as good as theirs. Just found theirs too sterile. Had a tyre blow out on the M6 on the way back which was great fun... Anyway had we had 11 men and sharper finishing I think the score would have been somewhat different. Can't wait to the return so Hednesford can be on the end of a battering. Great goal from Dennis; pleased its coming right for him.
