Right, first up, here is the table after Week 4, with Archie taking a seemingly unstoppable lead - having scored another 5 points this week (when the best anyone else managed was 2):
1. Archie 16 2. Hatter in Macc 13 3= County Benno 12 Epworth 12 5= BBLW 11 Gazza 11 7. Market Harborough 5
It'll all come down to the link - can anyone catch him?

Here are the 4 players as a reminder, and a little hint as to the link (which only 3 of you got):
Jimmy MEADows Calum DavenPORT Graham ALExander David GINola
That's right - the link is booze! Well, it IS Christmas.
Here's where it gets exciting. Archie, Lennie and Maccy were the only three Heaveners who got the link, and Archie wasn't the first, so if either Maccy or Lennie got the link a few days earlier than Archie, they could still take the title.....

The Heavener who got the link the earliest was Lennie, although he couldn't then convert that into maximum points in the subsequent weeks (due to my devilish clues), and so it all boils down to how many days passed between his correct guess and Archie's. There are currently 5 points between them, and I can reveal that Archie scored an impressive 12 bonus points, so Lennie would need to have scored 17 to draw level or 18 to win.
He scored....

15! Which means he narrows the gap on Archie to just a couple of points, but it's not enough to stop the man from North Wales taking the win!
Congrats to Archie, here's the final table with the bonus points added:
1. Archie 28 2. BBLW 26 3. Hatter in Macc 15 4= County Benno 12 Epworth 12 6. Gazza 11 7. Market Harborough 5
Thanks everyone for taking part, not just for this quiz, but throughout the year. I have plenty of quizzes left in me (and quite a few ready to go), so if you're up for it next year, so am I.
See you in 2016 - Merry Quizmas everyone.

Another excellent quiz Sandy looking forward to the next one, take a very well earned Christmas Quiz break. Hear! Hear! Even though the drinks-link was devilishly difficult. (Not that I'm... er, wining ) Well played, Lennie and, in particular, Archie. It will have still taken a lot to make correct first-day guesses, as you did, in the final two weeks. Thanks again, Sandy - and, as you say, Happy Quizmas to all!

The link was difficult but that makes the quizzes more interesting, but annoyingly enough I actually thought it was something to do with Port, if I had just looked a little harder.

Thanks all. Just one of those rare moments of clarity when I'd run out of footballing links. I actually had a bit of fun trying to predict the last 2 players. I only found 3 types of booze so was betting on Ginola and Bale which sort of had me looking again when he called a defender for week 3. The 3rd drink would have been evil - Ivan RAKItic! Great early call on the link from Lennie and I can't help but think that Maccy was distracted by his studies. I hope that all went well this week.
Thanks for another fine quiz, Sandy. I hope you manage to extract another one in a couple of weeks so I can try for a 3peat but, in the meantime, all the best for Christmas and the New Year to you and the other quizzers (plus families, of course).

Thanks, sandy, for all your quizzerisation this year.
I think there could have been 10 players and I wouldn't have got the link! Totally different wavelengths on this one. Still enjoyable, though!
Well played archie and lennie.
