Fair point - he's just the last useless incumbent of unfortunately long list of useless ........... You're not wrong there, mate, surely the chain will be broken soon?!

I really hope this comes off, ceefer. Steve Bellis has proper pedigree in this game, but it's who he's having to negotiate with that concerns me. I have my doubts that certain shareholders want to let go, I'll refrain from suggesting names or possible reasons why, but I'm not convinced by some of the sound bites I have heard from certain parties.

I completely believe Bellis and the Chinese are serious investors and not time wasters and as you say Gazza it depends how the people on the other side of negotiations are!
I can definitely see us starting a war with China over it though!

The council will be all over like a rash, offering help like it's going out of fashion. The last time we went to them with our begging bowl, weren't we told to do one?
They have to understand that this Club of ours remains a very important part of Stockport and that they must not scupper any chance of our revival by playing silly buggers with prospective investors.
By helping us, also helps Stockport.

Take County out of Edgeley and it will impact massively on revenue on Castle Street and other areas of business in the immediate vicinity.
The council don't give a sh*t about County, simple as that.

I genuinely think the council want us to go bump so people stop asking the council to help for one year they sponsor us with a measly little amount and then rode the crest of the saviour wave for a while!
They were however happy to help pay for a football centre in Reddish, Stockport with links to Man City!
b*ll*cks to the council

Then bailed out when we needed them most after losing our FL status.
They did bugger all for us until we started getting to those Wembley finals, then they couldn't get on the bandwagon quick enough. Goddard was the best, going round on official SMBC business in a Manchester City tie, thank God the voters saw through him.

I would love the Chinese to take over but I can't help thinking that we have heard all this talk before and that's all it will be this time talk, just totally disillusioned with County at the moment, one day we will just be able to concentrate on the football and not have to worry what's going on behind the scenes but I think that's just a dream that won't come true

There are 2 scenarios which I worry about, 1 is that they don't take over and are put off by the shambles that the club has become or more worryingly 2, they pull a Tony Evans on us, spend loads of money, act like the messiah and then do one!

The first one is more likely, Fudgie. McKnight is the one 'selling' the club, I wouldn't trust him to sell Hot Dogs on match day. The man has no understanding of how a football club should be run, so how can he be expected to sell it?
If we were a fairground coconut shy he'd be handing out sets of darts to customers!
