Well, what a nice change it makes to be able to post one of our articles on a Saturday evening, while feeling upbeat in the aftermath of a home game!
Enjoy...

Afternoon, all - and greetings from SK3 for a 4th (FOURTH!) successive Saturday.
Looking at the sequence of our home results over the previous three weekends - and clutching at proverbial straws in the process - they do seem to be on an upward trajectory of sorts, with a defeat followed by a scoreless draw and then one featuring goals. So, let us hope to top that with a triumph today... and, I need hardly add, finish the match with eleven players!
The FA Cup draw has handed the Hatters a tough trip to Fylde in the Second Qualifying Round a week from now. Not the tie that many wanted, but at least this gives us programme contributors a chance to recharge our creative writing batteries! Besides, it also offers an opportunity to build further on some generally impressive away-form - Tuesday night’s annual midweek loss at Chorley, notwithstanding...
A warm welcome to Alfreton, who County last played here just over three years ago. A repeat of the one-goal victory sneaked by the Hatters on that occasion would do very nicely, as we seek to rebuild ‘Fortress Edgeley’ - while preventing the in-form Derbyshire Reds from claiming five wins in a row.
So, with today’s visitors gladly received, that’s my ‘Alf of the article done. Are we ready for Sandy, then? Not ‘Alf…

Good (Alan) Lord. I can only assume/hope that you are saving the good puns for the official match report?! Not that I have been able to come up with anything better, mind...
These Saturday home games are coming thick and fast aren’t they? So much so, our ‘Match Threads and Reports’ section is being kept extremely busy. For the uninitiated, a few days before each fixture we start a thread for members to post their thoughts and predictions prior to kick-off; followed by updates and comments during the game itself; and, finally, some post-match analysis with, increasingly of late, an element of ‘referee-related ranting’ (you’re welcome, alliteration fans!).
All this is in conjunction with a live feed to Maccy’s consistently excellent Twitter updates, and a sneak preview of his official match report before it goes on County’s website. What more could you ask for?
Oh, go on then. We also have separate rooms for other ‘First Team Discussions’, the Reserve and ‘County Ladies’ teams, as well as anything else media-related. The last time people were this spoilt, there was an Ambassador and some Ferrero Rocher involved!
Last, but not least, my latest quiz has just started, so if you fancy taking part in an online quiz/fantasy 5-a-side tournament, there’s still time to sign up to County Heaven and get involved.
Enjoy the match, fellow Hatters.
