Eeeexcellent!
Just to clarify, the rule about a tie-break decider if your team draws will of course only apply when the other team is still in the competition. So it will apply to any draw in the first game week, but after that, if your team is playing a team already eliminated, a draw will be sufficient to keep you in the competition. You'll only be caught by the police if you lose.
Don't worry, I'll explain as we go along!

So say I get Udinese and Empoli for example, Udinese win their game but Empoli lose, am I completely out or do I keep going until both teams are out?

You stay in until both your teams are out.

You don't want Empoli anyway Fudgie as they're in Serie B. That'd be the Italian Job equivalent of being lumbered with Benny Hill.

Right, seeing as all the teams have now been allocated, I'll let you know who you've all got in the order you joined the competition:
Gazza - Cagliari and Lazio Sir Roger - Chievo and Torino Downy - Verona and Atalanta BBLW - Parma and Sampdoria ifothers - Fiorentina and Catania Big Fudge - Livorno and Roma Maccy - AC Milan and Sassuolo Sirius - Juventus and Bologna a_r_s - Udinese and Genoa Dudley - Napoli and Inter Milan
Remember, it's nothing to do with league positions and all about results starting from this Saturday. The fixtures will be posted shortly, but just out of interest here's how the current Serie A table looks:
1. Juventus - Sirius 2. Roma - Big Fudge 3. Napoli - Dudley 4. Fiorentina - ifothers 5. Verona - Downy 6. Inter Milan - Dudley 7. Torino - Sir Roger 8. Parma - BBLW 9. Genoa - a_r_s 10. Lazio - Gazza 11. AC Milan - Maccy 12. Cagliari - Gazza 13. Udinese - a_r_s 14. Sampdoria - BBLW 15. Atalanta - Downy 16. Chievo - Sir Roger 17. Bologna - Sirius 18. Sassuolo - Maccy 19. Livorno - Big Fudge 20. Catania - ifothers
So it's actually worked out as quite a nice mixed balance of teams. Dudley seems to have got the pick of the draw (so maybe I should have taken those last numbers for myself??!) but it's anyone's game. As we all know, stranger things have happened than bottom beating top.
Right, the fixtures for our opening week....

Saturday
Livorno (Big Fudge) v Parma (BBLW) Bologna (Sirius) v Lazio (Gazza)
Sunday
Torino (Sir Roger) v Fiorentina (ifothers) Atalanta (Downy) v Catania (ifothers) Cagliari (Gazza) v Juventus (Sirius) Roma (Big Fudge) v Genoa (a_r_s) Verona (Downy) v Napoli (Dudley) Sassuolo (Maccy) v AC Milan (Maccy)
Monday
Sampdoria (BBLW) v Udinese (a_r_s) Inter Milan (Dudley) v Chievo (Sir Roger)
This throws up two interesting developments! Firstly, Gazza and Sirius are playing each other in both fixtures so either one of them will walk away with both teams in the competition and eliminate the other, or they'll end up with one team remaining each. If both fixtures end in a draw, they'll be allocated two tie-break questions to decide them.
Even more interesting is that Maccy is playing with himself (not for the first time). As such, the only way he can keep both teams in the competition is for the result to be a draw, in which case no tie-break applies and both teams progress. If there's any kind of result he's down to one team, but (unlike everyone else) he is now guaranteed to progress to week 2 at least.
Any questions, give me a shout. I'm now moving the thread to Other Fun and Games where it will remain for the remainder of the competition.

AC Milan are 11th?! Jesus Christ.....! i was using that as an example the other day - it is possible for man utd's dynasty to be over. when milan were winning european cup after european cup with baresi and maldini and gullit and van basten and all the other stars, you wouldn't have thought they would soon be also rans. same with liverpool's dominance - in 1990, you wouldn't have believed that they wouldn't win another title in all this time. it has become a mental habit to expect united to recover from adversity in individual games, to nick late winners, to come on late runs in the second half of the season, to psyche other teams and managers out, to benefit from dubious refereeing decisions.....but if even howard webb has turned his back on them, then perhaps they really are in trouble. the next couple of transfer windows are actually make or break for them. they might have some money, but spurs have shown it's about spending it correctly...
