Well, hello!
Our first article of the season follows. Programmes were apparently sold out by 2.15 this afternoon - so, if you didn't manage to get hold of a copy, happy reading...

Good afternoon, and welcome back to EP for another season of bitterly disappointing performances. But enough about our article, let’s hope events on the pitch see County promoted next April!
If you aren’t yet familiar with County Heaven, let me begin with an introduction. We are an online forum run by the fans, for the fans, and anyone is welcome to join. Myself (Sandy) and my esteemed co-writer, Hatter in Macc (Maccy), have contributed to the programme on behalf of the forum for the past three seasons, are we’re honoured/puzzled to have been invited back to do so again.
As well as interesting and often lively debate about all matters County, we also discuss various other football and non-football related topics.
Our Games Room remained busy over the summer, with Lennie’s Limerick Lounge and my Quiz Zone continuing unabated, and while DownUnder Hatter (so called because he lives in Australia) took his summer break from the Prediction League, it was ably babysat by Big Fudge (so called because... actually, I have no idea) who set some very taxing fixtures from those leagues still in action.
Lastly, our technical and design guru, Gazza, has been busy with the layout of the forum, and it has never looked better. Pop along to www.countyheaven.com and check it out for yourself if you haven’t already. New members are always afforded a warm welcome, so make sure you sign up and say hello!
Right, over to the man who puts the ‘pun’ in punditry, it’s Maccy!

Thanks, Sandy - and hello again, fellow Hatters. I think, though, that the part of the word requiring emphasis in my case is probably ‘i try’ (and often abysmally)!
As in previous close seasons, County’s friendlies ahead of the Big Kick-off have provided an interesting mix of footballing workouts... and, come to that, weather conditions. Who, after all, would have gambled on the sunniest pre-season outing being in Clitheroe? (Mind you, last year’s corresponding hot-spot was Buxton...!)
Talking of bets, most are already off where County’s 2015/16 Goal of the Season competition is concerned - following a quartet of Abs Baggie wonder-strikes and, in particular (if YouTube hits are anything to go by), Karl Ledsham’s Beckham-esque ‘worldie’ against the latest generation of little (red) devils from somewhere in Manchester.
But, this afternoon, the excitement and anticipation properly reach a zenith - albeit with a slight twinge of caution, as we remember the rude awakening to life in the Conference North (as it was) that today’s visitors from Boston inflicted upon us two season-openers ago. A reversal today of that 1-4 defeat from August 2013... now, that, for County, would truly represent ‘Pilgrims Progress’!
Enjoy the game - and the season.
