We welcome the Youth of Man U. They're from Salford though, I presume that you knew. So let's put them on skids, 'Cause "you win nowt with kids"! I think we scared them by all shouting "BOO".

Time for a decision then Gazza.
I am going to put the Cheadle and Connah's Quay together in one limerick to ease the pressure over the weekend.

Going to make this one quick(ish), Lennie, not like me I know! At three we have Maccy with: "Heard they're followed by sheep... haven't ewe?!" At two we have the man himself, Lennie with: "Their first team chances are far between and few." and my winner this time is archie with the fantastic: "Like snooker, Reds 1 and 5 Blue." - well done, mate, even though the prediction was way off, that line is seriously brilliant. Enjoy your Golden Quill, matey! And with that I'll leave you in the capable hands of Judge Archie, and thank you all for taking part. I save my final thanks for the peerless Sir Leonard of White, for yet again providing us with a great Limerick. Thanks, matey! Thanks again, all, now make sure you all have a go of the next one and make Archie's decision a real bugger!

Brilliant Gazza.
The standard was superb and looks like picking up momentum for the new season.
Thanks for taking part everyone and a well deserved win for Archie (early strike as well).

Cheers for the Bronze Medal, gazza - and well judged, matey. That was a classic winning line from archie. And right on cue as well (did I say that?)... Thanks, as ever, to Sir Len... who will no doubt be grateful for a few days of rest next week, before the rhyming season-proper gets underway!

Wahey, thanks Gazza. Seriously good entries this round so chuffed to win. I hope you'll provide the wheelbarrow that I'll need to carry that medal around! The snooker gag, as far as I know, goes back to 1989 when a young City side did the business against United, possibly for the first time with Fergie in charge. It was my birthday and I'd had a day out from my then home of St Albans, watching my racehorse on the gallops in the morning and then County at Aldershot in the afternoon. Living where I did I didn't see much of County so it was particularly disappointing that a side that had started the season with 6 unbeaten somehow contrived to lose to an Aldershot side who, on the play, would have been lucky to come second never mind win. Seeing the look on Fergie's face on Match of the Day that night was slight consolation.
Cheers as usual for the sport, Lennie.
