Sounds like a good plan Macca. That'll do for me. New one being prepared as I write. Better look who we are playing first !!! G-B-T it is then.

The first game of two thousand, four-teen. A repeat of the Boxing Day scene ? O'er the hills to the mills, Should provide mega-thrills Not likely, thanks to the rain there's no game to be seen!

Apologies for the slight delay in announcing the results, fellow limericists! A rather unusual competition, this, given that yesterday's weather conditions and postponement gave rise to a late outpouring (sorry, couldn't resist...) of excellent rhyme. And, with that in mind: Third place is shared between Gazza, for his hope that "the pitch doesn't resemble a latrine", and Sir Rog, on taking the positives out of the game that never was and rejoicing that "we've saved money by not using the washing machine". Far from, erm... plumbing the depths with those lines, chaps! In the runner-up position, Downy, for his late, late bid for glory, pronouncing that "it'll be a Monday night when we reconvene". But the winner this time has to be... Lennie, whose combination of an old gag with some clever, well-scanned rhyming gave us: "Bring on the sub... and I don't mean marine." Nauti-cal, but nice . The judge's robes are ready when you need them, Sir! Many thanks to everyone who took part. Here's to plenty more good rhyming in 2014!

Many thanks, Macca. I will don the robes with pride.
Excellent entries - especially the late ones sent instead of holding our breathe for a result in Brat-fud.
Thanks to all for having a go - new one on the way very soon.

Another podium! Cheers, Maccy. Honoured to share it with Rog, and no shame in losing out to Downy and Lennie's efforts respectively for the Silver and Gold. Cheers for the wisdom and Bronze, Maccy, and many thanks to Lennie for another great game!
