I think we had a thread like this on the old CH, it should make for interesting discussions.....
So go on, what are your favourites, I'm going to have to go with the American Dad song and the classic Simpsons theme!

Anything by Barry Gray & his Orchestra, but I'll start my faves off with Stingray or Thunderbirds!

I'm gonna put it out there and say the theme to Buffy The Vampire Slayer had a great intro theme with some great instrumentals in there!

yeah, i loved how they constantly pulsed gazz. looked like a kid's drawing, but completely iconic.
sorry to be so disagreeable with you fudge, but i would put any of the songs from 'once more with feeling' over the theme itself.
not a fan of alabama 3, but the long 'woke up this morning' intro to the sopranos was epic. the 'true blood' one, like the sopranos is great with the visuals.
bagpuss. blake's seven the early doctor who theme - spooky and totally different for the time the onedin line

Jason King was Department S wasn't it? Peter Wyngarde sporting a Sandy-style 'tash!
Great call on some of those themes, Offy. Magnum PI (in keeping with the hairy top lip theme!) was a great show with a great theme. Hill Street Blues is one of the very best TV shows of all time, and the theme is a classic.
I totally agree on 'Avenues and alleyways' by Tony Christie, the theme from The Protectors, what a belting theme - brilliant shout.

Good shout on The Equalizer, Downy. Stewart Copeland, no less. Brilliant show, used to go to my Nan's every week on the night it was on and watch it with her. I miss those days!

'Yellow Pearl' - TOTP theme by Phil Lynott & Midge Ure, a classic, and a regular player on my phone.
